The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

I want to share a present I got from my friend for my Birthday last week.

That's awesome! Any idea how much it cost?

Stan Sakai is one of the nicest comic guys I've ever met. Anytime I bring him something to sign, he sketches in it.

EXCLUSIVE: Seeley Pits "Deadpool vs. Thanos" in "Very Twisted" New Series

This September, the Mad Titan's deadly seriousness and the Merc with a Mouth's razor sharp wit clash when they're brought together for a bi-weekly four issue miniseries. In "Deadpool Vs Thanos," by writer Tim Seeley and artist Elmo Bondoc, the unlikely duo team to rescue their missing ex-girlfriend Death, and restore balance to the universe.

I know my nerd is showing, but anytime I see Thanos used in anything less than a super serious way, I get a little miffed.

Cost? I am not really sure price range. In this case it was most likely free since it was given by Stan's daughter.
I have known Stan thru going to Cons like Comic Con for close to 30 years. My son was going to U C Riverside and it turns out his room mate was going out with Stan's Daughter and became very close friends with her and through her he got to spend a lot of time with Sakai household.

That's awesome. I buy something from him every year at WonderCon, but I don't think it's gotten to the point where he recognizes me or would be willing to give me birthday cards as a gift yet. :)

Exclusive: Bid farewell to FABLES with a veritable Who's Who pull-out cover

Wow, Fables is ending. I have to look and see what the last tpb I read was and catch up.

I'm happy to say that, 20+ trades in, it's still a quality book. It definitely hit its peak with the finale of Homelands/Gepetto storyline, but there wasn't much of a drop-off afterwards. Sad to see it go.

Yeah, I think that is about where I left off. Gonna have to check the shelf and order up. I don't even know why I stopped, it really was a solid read. I think i just got fed up with comics a while back. I have the first 2 trades of Locke & Key, V for Vendetta in hand and ready to read. A couple Transmetropolitans, 100 bullets too. I just sorta stopped reading. Is the Goon actually done? I need to get caught up on that fine series too.

Not yet, but I think they announced that the end is coming for it. I'm 2-3 trades behind on that one, too.

Report: Six Actors Screen-Test for Spider-Man in Atlanta

Of the five names previously rumored to be on the studios' shortlist, only Butterfield and Tom Holland were present for Saturday's auditions. The others include Charlie Plummer (who appeared on "Boardwalk Empire"), Charlie Rowe (from Fox's canceled "Red Band Society"), Matthew Lintz (who can be seen next to Adam Sandler this summer in "Pixels"), and Judah Lewis (who plays a young Johnny Utah in the upcoming "Point Break" remake).

Read a thing this weekend, too :rasta:'d to find, that confirmed Colossus in Deadpool. So...soft X-men tie in already there...I swear, tag is GONNA have Cable. If Not Deadpool, then X-Men 14. They already have the X-Force movie lined up.
