The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

Got an interesting email today that I found to be quite an honor to be asked to help with. Edited of course for names

Comment:
Hi, Ryan. My name is XXXXXXXXXX, and I'm a freelance editor/coordinator
for Marvel Comics' trade paperback department.

I'm working on the "Moon Knight Epic Collection: Shadows of the Moon" TPB,
collecting Moench and Sienkiewicz's 1980s Moon Knight run. I'd love to
include Bill Sienkiewicz's 1981 portfolio in the back as a bonus feature,
but Marvel doesn't have any art or film on file for it.

According to your gallery, you own a copy:
http://ryan.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_info.asp?ItemID=143176

Do you still own this? Would you be willing to scan all five pieces for
us, so we can print them in the TPB?

I'd like to deliver the scans to my in-house editor by the end of this
week...please let me know if you're up for this! I'd be happy to run your
name in the book's Special Thanks section.

We need 600 dpi scans, saved in .tif format with no compression. We'd
like a half inch of blank space left around all four sides of each image.
And even though the portfolio pages are grayscale, we'd like the scans to
be in color if possible.

Update:

The book Moon Knight Epic Collection #2 Shadows of the Moon arrived today from Amazon and they were able to use my scans for the portfolio at the end of the book and true to their word I am listed under "Special Thanks" section.

Holee Crap, just saw that some tpbs of Garth Ennis' run on The Demon are FINALLY coming out in tpb. Looks like it's just the back end of the run(so far) but I remember these oh so fondly...the dude that was turned into a pillow in particular.
And another John Ostrander Suicide Squad volume is coming out too. Dayum.

I forgot about the Ennis The Demon. My first intro to the character was the '80's revival that I bought from a bargain bin, lol.

But awesome cover. I still have it somewhere.

****ing FINALLY. Supposedly, the new TPB has a bunch of extra material, too.

Ennis and McCrea are currently doing that Section8 mini-series for DC and this was in the last issue:

The series as a whole has been good but not great, but this issue is the funniest thing Ennis has written in years.

RUMOR: FOX EYING ROB LIEFELD'S "PROPHET" FOR FEATURE FILM ADAPTATION

http://www.comicbookresources.com/a...-liefelds-prophet-for-feature-film-adaptation

Because the world needs more Liefeld inspired movies, haha.

I am still waiting for his version of Captain America to be made into a movie.

That Super-Soldier Serum is one hell of a drug! mhihi:

Dude, since Prophet has been re-invented by Brandon Graham, it's been one of the best sci-fi comics I've ever read.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I'll have to check it out then. I probably was too ready to make jokes, but, um, you now, Liefeld. ;)

Anybody watch Jessica Jones yet? Only watched one episode so far but it looks to be as good if not better than daredevil which is saying something.

On my list after I get through man in the high castle. Good to hear it started off well, keep posted on if it's good throughout (sans-spoilers)

A Justice League Dark Rumor Round-Up

Then, earlier this week, Latino Review received a list of potential casting choices, including Colin Ferrell and Monica Bellucci for characters like John Constantine and Madame Xanadu. Heroic Hollywood hears tell that Ben Mendelsohn may end up playing the villainous Antone Arcane opposite a Ron Perlman Swamp Thing. Also, why not throw in Ewan MacGregor as Jason Blood? If true, it would be a hell of a cast.

Now, JoBlo hears that Big Bad Wolves directing duo Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado and Evil Dead remake director Fede Alvarez are the top contenders to take the assignment. It’s the mention of Alvarez that makes the project interesting — especially if they get any two of the actors so far mentioned. All of the names are solid choices for a film skewing closer to horror, but the Evil Dead remake’s emphasis on practical effects could be a fun take on DC’s magical corner.

I am up to the seventh episode. I am enjoying it, the story, and the characters. I think the first few eps could've been retitled Jessica and Luke: A Love Story, haha.

Oh, but seriously, aside from some humor and romance of sorts, it is pretty dark especially more so as it progresses, probably more so than Daredevil. I wouldn't say which series is better though until I've seen all of it. ;)
