The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

I can get behind that as a HUGE Main Man fan...but clearly that's only if they are going full mo-cap/cgi route. Maybe 20 years ago he could have pulled it off, but the man is 70-something I think.
Still think Jeffery Dean Morgan would have been a good choice back a few years ago when he was stumping for the part, but this has been green light/red light for years. Until Deadpool shows whether a hard R superhero flick can be done...I don't even want them considering this.

Hope that Deadpool will show them how to properly make one.

Certainly shown them how to do Colossus. I mean, when did literal transfers of all the identifiable characteristics of what you loved about the characters turn into a bad thing. Comics are a visual medium, so why wouldn't you distance yourself from all the great work that the CREATING ARTISTS established.

There's a fine line. It makes no sense to ditch the costumes completely, but at the same time... when they do Iron Fist, I hope they ditch the collar, you know?

The ‘Lucifer’ Cast Explain the Politics of Hell and Changes from the Comics

Regarding specifics from the comics, though, and what seems like the many changes in tone and character, Ellis replied, “it’s interesting — people that really want this to follow the graphic novel will be disappointed.”

Sure. Take a middle tier(as far as public awareness) comic and use the name for recognition, yet almost go out of the way to have NO touchstones to the story you claim to be selling. Please cancel this immediately. If the reviews are any indication, they might have been better served copying the comic.

Not having read the comic at all (which makes the show sound like an easy pass for those people), I thought the Lucifer premiere was decent last night. If Constantine was too dark/special-FX-y last year, this was basically a clone of Castle, but with the devil instead of an author. Very few FX compared to Constantine, besides the angel, some shooting and a mirror shot of Lucifer.

DC Entertainment announces new slate of Hanna-Barbera titles
http://www.ew.com/2016/01/28/dc-entertainment-hanna-barbera-titles

You remember their names: Fred Flintstone, Scooby-Doo, Johnny Quest. You remember the scenario: Sitting in front of the television every Saturday morning, watching great animated adventures while still in your pajamas. And this May, DC Entertainment is taking you back to those days with an all-new line of comics based on your favorite Hanna-Barbera characters. Featuring books like Scooby Apocalypse, Future Quest, Wacky Raceland and The Flintstones, DC is looking not to rehash old stories, but revitalize the characters in a new day and age ? while keeping their charm, of course.

Jonny Quest/Space Ghost/Herculoids looks ok, but the rest...

Oh sweet christ NO!!!!!
