The other teams thread

I have brought it up before, but the Oilers Team D is impressive. Puck pressure all over the the place and the Panthers play like they have not time to make a play. Often resulting in turnovers and GA.

Panthers need to play quicker make better decisions. Dump the puck over trying to make a quick touch pass in the neutral zone. If that does not happen, I fear I am going to hate the outcome.
What the entire playoff tournament has shown is there’s a couple different ways to build a great blue line but fundamentally from D#1 to D#6 the best blue lines perform the same function: defend by moving the puck faster out of their own zone and more precisely to the attacking forwards.

If you move the puck quickly out of your zone there’s fewer quality shots against. If you can do that and then move it accurately to an attacking player it’ll lead to an offensive chance for.

The Kings blue line over the past 3 seasons have been great at the first part of that equation. Moving the puck out of the zone to limit shots against. They’ve been varying degrees of awful at part two. Making plays out of their own zone and onto sticks of attacking forwards or rushing the puck out of their own zone and attacking the offensive blue line on their own.

Blake need to fix the 2nd part this off-season.

FL was also much better in their own zone to start the series. They played absolutely connected and were very quick to get on pucks to clear. McDavid has taken over now and FL is chasing back there. They’ve got to slow the game down a little.
In the last three games, they have not been connected, and their passing stinks. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact they've been on their heels, both literally and figuratively. Their confidence is low and with Bobrovsky struggling, it's been hard to watch.

But they're still in it. As much as everyone feels this series is over, and rightfully so, if Bobrovsky dails in, and Tkachuk, Reinhardt and Verhaege finally decide to show up, they can regain their form and take the Cup. And the Oilers might be feeling a bit overconfident at this point.

But the Panthers need to play smart and stay out of the freakin box.

Whoever scores first in this one will probably win. It should be a fun game to watch.

End of 1st. After getting on board first, Florida then surrenders a goal to Edmonton on a breakaway pass courtesy of a defensive miscue by Ekblad. Right now, the game remains tied but Florida has to get back the lead and not surrender it again in the 2nd period.

If I were coaching the Cats, during the intermission, I'd just be, please, just win!!!!
