The other teams thread

I think Dallas has a better chance against the Oils, but it's hard to root against the Jets tonight. I don't want Schiefele to get eliminated after losing his Dad.

Well, Dallas will once again draw Deadmonton in the WCF this year, now that Loserpeg has been eliminated. This time, Dallas, you better not choke and let us Kings fans down. I really do not want to see Deadmonton back in the Cup Finals again.

All division winners exempt for Toronto has been eliminated. So starting next season nobody will want to win President trophy and win their division lol

Dallas made WCF 3 times in a row.
3rd time a charm. In 2023 «Stars » lost to Vegas Golden Knights » (2-4), and in 2024 to «Edmonton» 2-4

Toronto lost last 6 games seven .Looks like Florida.
Game 7 goes exactly like game 5
3-0 after 2 periods

Good win by Toronto. I don’t think either of these teams can beat Carolina.
Carolina has had a very easy draw. The Kings could have won the Metro even if Hiller glitched out. The Devils were pathetic after Hughes got hurt and the Capitals were a decent team that the Canes shut down. Florida is built for the playoffs and owned the Canes a couple years ago

I'm thinking Florida vs Dallas. These 2 series should be fun to watch. Also, if Florida-Dallas goes 7 then one of the undefeated coaches will have to lose a game 7.

Well, I'm not surprised Toronto choked again and got eliminated. You can always count on Toronto to perform some degree of choke artistry whenever they get to the playoffs. They must be missing a certain something that's keeping them from reaching the ECF, let alone the Cup Finals. Too bad the front office doesn't seem to properly address their needs when the offseason comes. But that's Toronto to you. On to the golf course you go, Maple Laughs.

I think Matthews is a quality player, but not necessarily a quality playoff performer. For a guy who's supposedly in the top few players in the league, I don't see him pulling his team along behind him. I thought the same thing in the four nations.

Tavares is a free agent? He's gonna get a big pay cut, right?

I'm not one to play the what if game, but where do you guys see Mathews and Tavares ending up next year?

I bet Tavares does take a pay cut to stay in Toronto. Matthews stays a Leaf for as long as he wants and Marner is coming to LA. It’s the perfect fit for a guy who is sick of living in a fish bowl and a team who needs a superstar.

I don’t know if I see the same magic in this Florida team vs. last year. They failed to close out a floundering lifeless Leafs team at home and Toronto gave them more than they could handle in Games 1 & 2 and tied it up late in the 3rd period of Game 3 to send it to OT. I think the Panthers are vulnerable. Carolina is going to make their lives hell.

I'm curious if Tarvares ends up on the Islanders as the closing act of his career. I could also see him on a team like Anaheim who needs veteran leadership to balance out the new young core and should be ready to start competing next year. Problem is, most of the teams he'd be a good fit for have already invested quite a bit in centers.

It'll be interesting to see if Marner leaves Toronto. He really should but something tells me his preference is to stick with the Maple Leafs.

I doubt Matthews leaves on his next extension.
