The sad reality that we live in.

I've watched like 5 games this year and I'm mad because I miss watching Kings hockey but I just said no. I'll watch once Hiller is fired but even then I'd be kinda mad because well, tank commander and all. Someone might come in all gung-ho and get us to squeak into the playoffs and push this rebuild back even further which is way worse. Quite a conundrum.

Sell, sell, sell. It will be painful but hopefully in five to seven years, it will be worth it.

Perry, Kuemper, Moore, Foegele are no brainers to move on...Greentree can slot in for Moore...

I really think there would be a market out there for Doughty. He is still revered around the league (hence the team Canada pick....) and would slot in perfectly as a 2/3 Dman on a contender. His salary / term are very manageable. Question is would he consent...if Toronto came calling? Tampa? Detroit? Carolina? I don't know...but I really believe there is a good deal to be made out there...and the allure of 3 Cups puts you on a whole different level. Quicky probably busts his b*lls about it all the time...

And If I were Ken, I would really want to listen to what teams would offer for QB. Not that he will. If he brings back 3 decent pieces with some upside, I'm taking a long hard look.

That's the positive of if the Kings fall out of the playoff race, they definitely have rentals to move at the trade deadline.

I wouldn't trade Foegele or Kuemper, though, and definitely would not touch Byfield (especially for multiple lesser players). Kings need to focus on pulling in quality, at this point, as they already went the quantity route this past offseason.

If the Kings were to fall in the lottery and won the 1st overall pick, it would be a lot of fun watching elite talents of McKenna, Celebrini, Bedard, McDavid and MacKinnon regularly battling it out. It really seems like the NHL needs to start focusing on raising the hockey profile in the West.
