The Pacific Division Thread

High floor low ceiling ass team. All this is extra frustrating because this roster is a mobile puck moving D-man and a goal scoring Center away from top of the Pacific.
Yeah the Kings, and the league, is pretty nuts this season. Crazy to think the Kings are currently a top 3 defense in the league, in terms of goals against, and a bottom 3 offense in the league, in terms of goals for. Adding in a goal scoring center and mobile (offense-generating) defenseman and they'd be towards the top of the league (given the high degree of parity we are seeing between teams so far this season).

It'll be interesting to see what happens during the 2nd half of the season when that high degree of parity across the league begins to fade and the buyer/sellers emerge. Gotta believe some teams will start their tank campaign for the 1st/2nd overall pick as this seems to be shaping into a pretty top heavy draft.

The real tough part about looking for teams falling out of the race is every team in the East is a 3 game winning streak away from a playoff spot.

I can’t see any of them circling the wagons and going into sell mode unless something drastic happens.

If Holland’s only options are finding a trading partner in the West then the price of a rental is going to skyrocket and it dashes the hopes of finding a longer term option this season. That kind of trade will only happen during the summer.

Although we've come. To the end of the road. Still I can't let go. It's unnatural. You belong to me. I belong to you.

This is my relationship with this team, yes. Hiller is still here, yet so am I.

This needs to continue. A top 10 pick in this year’s draft would be the best thing that could come from this season.
If the Kings do end up getting an opportunity to draft a top 10 pick in this year's draft,it wouldn't suprise me,that Luc and Holland would find a way to screw that up

Always a possibility. I am hopeful Holland continues to just defer to Yannetti for drafting. At this stage in his career he may be more deferential on that front.

Agreed, summer would be ideal. The question is will a target be available (and realistic to sign) this summer or will Ken need to pay high to get the player he wants via trade.

If standings stay close like this, then I agree it's likely best to wait until summer (it also may be a good idea for the Kings to sell during the latter part of the season if parity remains high).
