The Pacific Division Thread

I've been hating Edmonton for so long I've completely forgotten of my past Duck hate. It would be great to bring it back.

My hatred of the Quacks as well as the Guppies will never go away even during their down years. But of course, the Coilers and the Golden Blights (but especially Deadmonton) still prove to be even more hateable than those other two, so yeah.

According to ESPN,the update standings in the playoff/WC race on 3/2/26:

To me, I actually want this Kings team to not make it to the playoffs this season. Most of the roster is cooked this year after being burned out by Hiller and trying to go win-now mode is a fool's errand for Holland at this point. At least we won't have to deal with the Coilers in the playoffs this time should the Kings indeed miss the playoffs.

Definitely. They currently have about 6% chance of getting 1st overall. They would most likely pick 8th. That's not the worst.

Add in a couple of picks for Perry and maybe some other guys and it's a boon.

Are we officially sellers now?
Who knows what’s in Holland’s mind right now,but you would figure if Utah and Seattle win their games and the Kings lose to the Isle on Thursday(the day before the trade deadline),Utah would be up on the Kings by 6 points and Seattle would by up by 7 points in the WC race,.We shall see in the next couple of days whether the Kings will be buyers or sellers at or before the trade deadline on Friday March 6th.

Don't worry, the Kings are not making the playoffs. 1-6 in the last 7 isn't a playoff team.

You can sell some players and give a chance to the AHL guys...they could prove more effective than the ones traded away.

Well #6 of the Sharks gave away the puck in OT that led to the GWG by Thomas of a depleted Blues team to win the game 3-2.Vegas just lost to the Wild 4-2,and Edmonton lost to the Canes 6-3.The Ducks won in a shootout 4-3 and took over 1st place in the Pacific Division with 72 points.

On topic, but a little off topic..... For some reason I went back and re-read the first few pages of this thread. It was a good read. Interesting looking at posts from 4 months ago and often times thinking, yep that is what happened.

Well, you got your wish! KH played the deadline well.

He traded 2 vets away, traded for 1 and signed one for free. Not exactly a way to give AHL guys a chance...granted not damaging to this organization either, so there's that. Until someone from the AHL leaves for free and makes himself a careere elsewhere...

Though I would argue that trading away a 3rd (contingent 2nd) does damage the Organization a bit if we do not extend him.

On the plus side, Holland gave DJ a chance to succeed by acquiring too of his former players, at least one of which seems to be an excellent locker room guy. It's a positive step forward in terms of culture.

Greatly respect Holland for not falling under any false delusions at the deadline this season. So far he has been a solid GM.
