Here's what I have lined up for the weekend:

AleSmith - Barrel Aged Wee Heavy
Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project - Baby Tree

If my buddy comes through, he'll be filling up my Bruery growler with their new malt liqour being debuted today. Its called Cornballer, and it's a 9.5% hoppy malt liqour. Cant wait!!!

Heading to Chicago tomorrow for a conference. Anyone familiar with the local brews I should try while I'm there?

Goose Island is out of Chicago, aren't they? You can find their Belgian stuff here in SoCal, but I haven't seen their darker beers around here anywhere.

GI Nightstalker: righteous
GI Bourbon County Vanilla Stout: to steal a line from my buddy: angel c*m.

No need to say what Unholy and Mitch already suggested. Goose Island is a must!

As big as they are, its a shame their stuff isnt easy to come by out here. They have some of their Belgian style ales (not bad, nothing exciting though) but their stouts and other beers are phenomenal!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Goose Island is there, but there's also alot of Wisconsin beers available there that you won't get here either. You won't be a popular guy if you ask for beers from there but keep your eyes open and you'll find some.
BTW these places are always classy:

Had Port's Mongo Double IPA on Fridee night. Huge on the Columbus hops, with an overall nice hop flavor (cascade and amarillo too) with just a slight malt backbone that makes this beast a hophead's delight. What I really liked was the imbalance of hop to malt, as any hoppy brew over 8% with too much malt drinks far too warm. This one is all hop and had an exceptionally dry finish.

Get this one while it is fresh! Blows the pants off Pliny the Elder IMO.

Blows the pants off? Hmmm, I guess that's a matter of opinion. I'll take a Pliny any day over Mongo...but that's just me.

What do you think of Knuckle Sandwich?
