No I haven't. I've got sooo much ground to cover it's amazing. I used to think I knew about beer, what with my liking of Newcastle and all. But now I realize that I'm still very inexperienced. The good thing is I have a whole lot of drinking to do! Wooohooo!
Fell in love with The Abyss by Dechutes last night. Love the coffee, chocolate, caramel taste.

Picked up Jolly Pumpkin / N?gne-? / Stone Special Holiday Ale. Have not tried it yet.
hear hear! there's so many it's not even funny.
ever get overwhelmed by the shear number of untried beers that you decide to go back to the ones that you're familiar with?
Visited a buddy in Carlsbad on Saturday. Headed to Green Flash and then Port Brewing/Lost Abbey for a couple flights.
Then headed back to his house to do a little more damage. Here is a picture of some of the bottles we tapped. Keep in mind there was 6 of us...so the damage isn't THAT BAD. I left out a couple bottles in this picture (Abyss and couple others).

I HIGHLY suggest the Abt 12. Good Lord that's a delicious brew. I give it a 9.5.
If you have a female significant other that's not a beer fan, serve her this without showing her the bottle. She'll drink it down in no time. Then you can rag on her for liking beer after all!My brother in law just turned us on to this very cool beer from Belgium which isn't your classic beer. It is a Framboise Lambic. It appears you can get various different flavors but we chose raspberry. It has a very high alcohol content. Give it a try. Looks like wine but it is a beer.

How much is it there?
$29 but I'll bet they are already gone by now.
Went to Bevmo in Laguna Niguel, they have about 6 left Angels Shares left, but they said they need to be aged for 6 to 12 months. Something about yeast carbonation issues. OB, did you have to age yours?
Of course there are going to be carbonation issues. All wood aged beers have the same issues
Have you tried Palo Santo from Dogfish Head or Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout? This is wood aged beer it's supposed to be like that
There are some left at quite a few places in the Long Beach area. I held off, but my friend picked one up to age. There has been a lot of carbonation issues so only pick up if you decide to let it sit.
