The Star Wars thread

That shot of the Death Star throne room being somewhat "intact" has got to be a dream sequence. How are they going to explain the throne room remaining almost nearly intact after the 2nd Death Star was vaporized/destroyed?!?!? That's really a hard sell if it is "reality" and it did survive.

^^ That's no "setback"....that is a blessing. Those clowns wrecked the final two seasons of game of thrones. They cannot write original material.
They are good adapters, and that is with the original author holding their hands.

Lucasfilm dodged a bullet here to be sure!

Other than Rogue One, the Disney era of Star Wars films has been misses.

However, it appears that the TV series (See Mandalorian) look EXCELLENT!

Count me among those happy about the B&W news. I had the same concerns as Moog, and from what I've heard of their creative thought processes, I wouldn't've had super high hopes about anything they'd turned out.

Plus, if this delay slows the development of the feature films, that's a good thing. This trilogy hasn't exactly hit on all cylinders. And while I find that "Rogue One" is a damn fine movie, it's not like "Solo" worked overly well.

They may wanna take a breath, let the "Mandolorian" restore some good will, for the love of all the gods, please let the Obi-Wan show be good, and then maybe look at another Star Wars feature.

"The Mandolorian" appears to be living up to every one of my expectations.

Hell of an intro episode. Can't wait til the next one on Friday.

Have watched it twice already, really enjoyed it. Amazing how much the technology has progressed...looked better CG wise than the prequels IMO and likely at a much smaller budget.

Is it weird I couldn't get over his being able to speak so clearly with the helmet on, a la bane? I suppose there's probably a speaker or something given the technology.

Pretty good episode though. That ending, whoaaa :) This every Friday thing SUCKS

Three episodes in and it's up there with the original trilogy and "Rogue One."

For TV, the production values are amazing.
This article on the sets was especially interesting.
And this one on the stormtroopers was fun.

So far, in episodes 2 and 3, it's been surprising to me that I just watched a 30 or so minute episode. There's so much in each one I woulda sworn they were longer.

It's funny, too, because it's a Western and it's a Samurai story, but it also feels like a video game. All melded together rather perfectly.

And the easter eggs! I love that you don't need to notice them to appreciate what's happening on screen or in the story. But when they pop up, they are organic and just add so much more depth to the universe.

Only 5 episodes of "The Mandalorian" left, ending just before New Year. So, just in time for a New Year's Eve 4 hour re-watch.

When the Dadalorian takes that helmet off finally and they pull back the reveal if he's not a Steve Harrington clone I will be disappoint
