Possibly the geighest combo of artwork/album title...well...ever. Still, not bad. Lots of outside writers, including fantasy author Eric Von Lustbader and Jim 'People who Died/Basketball Diaries' Carroll. Not their best by a long shot, but it was one that I didn't have...and I loves me some soft white underbelly.

A guilty pleasure. LA Guns were always special to me, at least the classic line-up with Phil Lewis(Girl/Torme'). Reformed and first new music in 7 years...Andy Johns(Zep-Cinderella and a whole bunch of crap inbetween) producing...Yes, they were tagged with the Sunset Strip/Hair Metal brush, but they were always different. Lotsa glam metal/Brit metal flourishes, bought this out of nostalgia...guess what? Surprisingly strong. There's nothing wrong with some good dirty RAWK and this certainly fits the bill. HIGHLY recommended.

LA Guns were always a cool band to listen to and to see live.

My stars so far no one's callin' me home
Space brain vagabond livin' on my own
Come all ye faithful you know all you people should come to me
I'll make you arms work and I'll make your legs work I'll make you see
Ladada ladada ladada ladada ladada whoa yeah
Well I swear by the air I'll be made to breathe
You'll pay very dear for this banishing deed
The power alone stored in my little hand
Could melt the Eiffel tower turn the sphinx into sand oh whoa oh oh
Oh no thar she blows spreadin' crazy news
All night cannonball loves to light the fuse
And everyone blows up and nobody grows up to fill dad's shoes
But that doesn't matter 'cause no little boys really wanted to
Ladada ladada ladada ladada ladada aah whoa whoa whoa whoa
I stared at the squall line I stared at the fault line
I see a funnel black there I think I see a crack there
Landscapes alive and it's movin' my feet
All I need is a holocaust to make my day complete oh oh oh ooh
Klaatu barada nikto klaatu barada nikto

Sadly I was a latecomer to the magic of the King. Kq was a fan and I never got it. But I have evolved and thanks to her and Kevin Smith I am a huge KD/Mercyful Fate fan. Just some lovely creepy stuff. The soundtrack to stuffing your mother's corpse in the attic window...always searching, always watching...always judging...SHUT UP MOTHER!!!!!!

Ahhh the King. What a show the man throws. Got the pleasure of meeting him too. Got a "House of God" poster autographed hanging over my bed.

I'm listening to the first movement of Beethoven's Sixth Symphony, conducted by John Eliot Gardiner and performed by the Orchestre R?volutionnaire et Romantique.

Beethoven's 6th Symphony With High Definition Pictures From Italy & Germany! - YouTube
(Not the exact recording I'm listening to, but it's a good representation.)

What's interesting about these performances and recordings of Beethoven's nine symphonies is that they were the first to be recorded digitally using period intruments. EVERY instrument played by the members of the orchestra was built while Beethoven himself was alive.

The Sixth Symphony is one of two that can literally make me weep...the other being the Ninth, which in my opinion, is the absolute pinnacle of man's musical achievement. This is powerful, emotion-inducing music, my friends. And it is not to be missed. Classical masterpieces are a very important part of world musical history. If you're a fan of any musical genre (no matter how unrelated to classical music you think your favorite genres are), I would highly recommend you obtain copies of these masterpieces from Beethoven. To learn to appreciate it is to know music.

The boxed set of CD's of Gardiner's recordings isn't cheap, at about $140. But you can download all nine symphonies from Amazon for about $45, here:
Amazon.com: Beethoven: 9 Symphonies: Orchestre R?volutionnaire et Romantique: MP3 Downloads

If you have to pick and choose, the "don't miss" Symphonies are six, seven, and nine.
