Heard this un at the end of the Following when Joe Carroll came back to the compond 2 episodes ago. Found it interesting enough to check out the cd

More of the same...ambient dream/tribal stuff punctuated by DeadCanDance-y type haunting vocals. Too much of a good thing as a whole. Plays like a soundtrack. Good for candles and lava lamp time.

Covers. I LOVE covers. And this is a good bunch. Surprisingly, the ones I was looking forward to (Cheap Trick's BIG Eyes, Lizzy's Jailbreak) serviceable at best. Belladonna's voice just not suited. OOOOOh same for T.N.T./AcDc, almost painful. But the Journey cover Keep on Running, and Rush's Anthem as well as Boston's Smokin'...all real good. The Journey cover is scary good. Top it off with Crawl and a remix of Crawl from the last cd, you could spend 6.99 on worse things.

Meet the new Sevendust...same as the old Sevendust. Yeah, it's good, but I think anyone who likes Sevendust knows what to expect at this point. Punchy musically, and Lajon skirts the line trending more towards actually singing. Like I said, good...but we have all been here before.

Ok, so Clutch. I know what you are thinking...'talk about more of the same', but they do just enough different for this to be a bit fresher and have more replay value. This will and should get consideration towards the end of the year as top 5 of 2013 material.

Ok. Lordi. This is a band I should LOVE. Kiss/Gwar image meets weird melodic keyboard/horror driven rock with gurgle-y vocals, although he can sing and they have decent backing harmonies. Even in a horror movie(from the Films to Die For series). But I just have never clicked with their music. The songs weren't there. This album changes that. Still dischordant with their image, but the music is waaaaaaayyy hooky and chorus driven. I have been humming a few of these for a couple days now.

Rocking out to a classic... THIN LIZZY - LIFE: LIVE

A lot of people forget this band wrote more songs than "Jailbreak" and "The Boys Are Back In Town". Songs like "Thunder And Lighting", "Renegade", and "Killer On The Loose" are way better.

This band has an ep out...which you NEED to get, but a full album is on the way. Timeless...classic...ASSKICKING!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. Torn on this'un. Previously said, big fan of covers...and this runs the gamut. I love Mike Portnoy as a drummer, yet I hate Dream Theater and I did not like this band's album of originals. Not a prog metal fan, and this band is kind of a proggish supergroup. I wanted Rainbow(who really were a prog supergroup) and, until this...never got it. Still a little TOO technically proficient and CLEAN, but the singer pulls off going from Badlands to Heart to RAINBOW...and gives it that much needed sense of SOUL. At times(the Doors cover) sounding like a faceless cover band, his voice pulls a few rabbits outta the hat. If you are into rock, you will find something cool here. Recommend with a warning.

"the singer"? That's Russell Allen of Symphony X, senor.

I have also heard the first Adrenaline Mob album was not good but the covers album is enjoyable. I did hear two-minute snippets of a few of the covers songs and I might toss it into my next Amazon order. I always felt the original version of Romeo Delight was a throwaway song that only existed to give David Lee Roth yet another chance to vocally mug, but the cover is fantastic.

Most of the album has leaked already. Not as evil as the debut, but still catchy. Can't wait to see them again in a few days.
