oh my hell, rise against's "appeal to reason" is not up to par with their previous four albums.
it's not terrible, but certainly not as good. tim mcilrath lost the raw rasp in his voice, which i actually liked. also, they sound too much like stadium rock which i think is culled from their recent tour with and attempts at trying to incorporate a similar sound to my chemical romance. meh.

but refused is good stuff.
