Last couple of CDs I bought while visiting AZ a few weeks back:
Middle Class Rut - every thing I read about them says they're half Jane's Addiction half something else. Definitely true. The album is a bit choppy due to it being more of an compilation of prior work, but it's good.
Neon Trees - a couple of good singles, has a good 80's kind of vibe to it (and one song is called 1983) but 8 songs is more like an EP these days. Posted via Mobile Device
Good lord...why the musicians in CT do not get the respect they deserve, I cannot fathom. Petersen may be one of the greatest bass players ever, Bun E., Rick freaking Nielsen...and Dorian Gray...errrrrr Robin Zander. Look, I am a ridiculous Trick fan, but if ever a band deserved to do Beatles songs...I can think of no other. OOOfa Day in the Life, got me all emotional!!!!:
****...Golden Slumbers/Carry that Weight...Kingsqueen goofs on me cause sometimes I can't even talk about Cheap Trick without tearing up...if she could see me now.
Use Your Illusion 1+2 were the pinnacle of the band i.m.o. Excessive, bloated...HELL YEAH. And that my friends, was the last true Rock and Roll band. BonJovi etc decry how iTunes/downloading has killed the music industry...I say NO!!!! Music has killed the music industry. Guns'n'Roses reuntiting may be just the kick in the ass that music needs.
Nice little pic there Orph...but G'N'R were never about being little were they!!!!!!
Quite simply the greatest AC/DC album ever made. Rick Rubin needs to remember where he made his bones and go back to producing music that has a pulse...and an OVERWHEMING RYTHYM SECTION. The drum sound on this is the way all recorded drums should sound. Talk about the death of music, the fact that I cannot think of a single band that kicks ass like this nowadays. Sad. Rick Rubin producing G'n'R(original lineup)...a boy can dream.
that album is amazing, free will sacrifice, no fear for the setting sun, & the hero, are probably some of my favorite songs by them.... thanks for waking me up this morning now. coffee and now listening to amon amarth at 9:30 in the morning... the wife is angry :becky:
