Man it's a good time to be a fan of old school hairy Rawk'nRoll...Rival Sons just killing it and these bands

ALL just trying their damnedest to bring back rootsy ass thumping MUSIC/SONGS with soulful as hell vocals. Hey kids, you want an education in what MUSIC used to be...listen up.

Just being a cool cat today...

Sweeping samurai film score + metal (non-growly kind)

Ok. So I think it's appropriate to review the two of these together. First off, Trent Reznor is happy...and God Bless Him and all that, but it just doesn't work. I do not want to hear an anger free NiN. This is very much like the Black Sabbath cd. LOng awaited and falls with a thud. Thanks for the sour persimmons. All that waiting and instantly forgettable.
So Ministry. AHHHHHHHHHH there is my anger. At least Granpa Al never lost his fire. Does it reach the heights of past glories? Naaaaaah...but it still sounds like a good fun aggro buncha noise. Rip Mikey...Rip Ministry.

I've listened to the new NIN once. I'll have to listen to it more to get a better idea of what I think about the album. ;)

And I guess, I'll listen to the new Ministry eventually. mhihi:

And the Sabbath album grew on me. evil:

Big Big Train is an English progressive rock band that sounds a lot like a cross between early/mid-period Genesis and XTC (Dave Gregory is more or less a permanant part of the band at least in the studio on their last three albums). I recommend their 2012 album "English Electric Part 1".

I also recommend their 2009 album "The Underfall Yard" and 2013's "English Electric Part 2".
