The song that first got me hooked on Nick Cave.
O poor heart
I was doomed from the start
Doomed to play
The villian's part
I was the baddest Johnny
In the apple cart
My blood was blacker
Than the chambers of a dead nun's heart
Successful jazz crossover thanks to its straight-ahead beat and funky sound, but it's still quality. Plus it reminds me of the classic scene in Casino. That's pretty persuasive.
Man! Did I **** up leaving this off my best of 2013 list. First off...if you don't know Ginger(Wildheart) from his solo work or the WildHearts...shame. This is one of his MANY sides...goddamned!!!! The songs/choruses/hooks!!!!!!!!!!
The tracks that Jake E. Lee has guest vocals on...Robin Zander...Maria Brink(In this Moment) are solid. But the guy he has as his touring vocalist, the songs are very 'Ozzy' esque. Meaning dated/tired.
More like it. Acoustic TWANGY versions of Primus songs and LOTS of covers. Early entry for best of 2014. Just fun FUN fun. Indulgent. Yup. Make a difference? NOPE.
With the Winter Olympics going on right now, it is once again time to enjoy the greatest video ever made involving a Swedish metal band taking on the Swedish women's curling team.
Heard Bitches Brew and dug it...and I know Deftones Chino likes this type o'thing more than old school agressive Deftones...but Team Sleep was a little soft in the middle. Weren't sure that a whole album o'this would be my cup o'tea. Well I gotta drink more tea cause this is beautiful. Pretty much Deftones as they are now...maybe a little more Floyd-y...with all the sound effects and production. That being said this is INSTANTLY more rewarding than the past few Deftones cds. This is a keeper and STRONGLY recommended.
Eagles Greatest Hits. Just got back from MGM Grand in Vegas where our Casino Hostess got us row D seats, 4 rows from the front, about 20' from Joe Fiddler Walsh. Great show. They really clamped down on the cell phones and other recording devices. Even Don Henley made the statement that Google had enough money, they didn't need any footage from this concert. Over three hours
