I just bought Interface by Stephenson and J. Frederick George at a Borders closing sale. Anybody read that yet? It sounded great and I loved Snow Crash, so I figured it was worth the $5.
I haven't even heard of it. :O
Snow crash is probably my favorite of his that I have read. It's not that what he's written afterwards is bad, far from it, if anything, he has become a much more ambitious, but yeah, like I said, he doesn't seem to be able to write anything less that 1000 pages, which, um, yeah, makes his books quite difficult to get through. And that's why Snow Crash is interesting, he was able to write a novel revolving around interesting ideas, but it moves and has more of a sense of action that some of his later books.
Apparently, some people are referring to his upcoming novel, Reamde, as a bit of a thriller so that should be interesting.
Anyways, I still haven't finished the Baroque Cycle, hell, I have only read the first one and there are two more, which are also about 1000 pages long, lol.
And speaking about writers of ideas, China Mieville, also just released a novel, which I have yet to get my flippers on, which apparently deals with language and what have you. I am such a nerd.
