What are you reading? What was the last book you enjoyed?

C.S. Lewis is a wise, wise man!

Which is the third book in the Ring trilogy.

Just started rereading Lonesome Traveler by Jack Kerouac. Not his best but not too shabby. The story about him traveling 50s Mexico is great and some still rings true Im sure.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer- soooo good

Last book I read was:

Really well written IMHO, and one of the best Star Wars books in years.

Reading so far like a typical Zahn "Chiss Rule!" book.

I'm reading "Captain James Cook" by Richard Hough. Next month I'm going on a 10 day cruise in French Polynesia and the Cook Islands. I wanted to read about the history and exploration of the area. While I'm there I can compare the islands of today with what they were like a few hundred years ago.

The book before this one was "Shadow Divers". Very interesting.

In the last few months, I've read every one of the novels written by the team of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. The Pendergast novels, in particular, are quite good. Think Clancy, Sandford, Cussler, etc. Very entertaining, quick reads that are very well researched. Enjoyed them very much and looking forward to their new book, The Book of the Dead, coming out in June. While I'm waiting, I just started reading a novel, The Codex, written by Douglas Preston on his own.

Will have to remember to go through this thread for recommendations on other things to read.

I just started in on the first book of George RR Martin's Fire and Ice series (I think that's what they're calling it). Not quite hooked yet (and I can't stop with the Tolkien comparisons), but I'm only up to chapter 3...

KICK ASS SERIES. I was never a fan of fantasyt but my friend turned me on to that series. awesome.

I ignored the Mosquito Coast in high school. Actually, I ignored virtually every English reading assignment from high school, but that's a different story. For some reason, I felt like reading this novel and picked it up about a week ago. Might have to find the film once I finish reading the book. I'm glad I don't remember the ending, although something in the book might trigger my memory the closer I get to the end.

I'm reading "Flood" by Andrew Vachss for the 4th time. I'm going to re-read the entire Burke series (my favorite ever) before the new book comes out in a couple of months.

Just finished Angels and Demons and started Da Vinci Code last night.

On tap:

The Last Templar
The Romanov Prophecy

finished The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. i liked it, i guess i should go search out the other books Adams' wrote....

The Count of Monte Cristo. 1100 pages down, 400 to go. Best novel I've ever read, Dumas is freaking brilliant.

Just read "On Writing" by Stephen King. it was a really fun novel to read. And it was sort of an autobiography by King, so an extra bonus if you're a fan of his work.
