Who will next year's goalie be ?

Hoven tweeted that “Elvis has returned to the building.” He used to call Lewis “Elvis.” Could save 500-700K if Blake signs him for 1-1.2M and ships out Lizotte. Don’t see how it works/makes sense otherwise. Grundy only makes 1.3.
Hoven is breaking the news this week. ID'ing both Talbot and Lewis the the Kings.

Korpisalo to Ottawa. 4 mil a year. Don’t think he’s worth it from what I saw. I have always thought Korpisalo was far better than talbot but I’ve watched korpisalo fold big time when we needed him. Happy to try talbot or more likely Copley instead.

The performance bonus cap trick isn’t one that got a lot of press, but in this flat cap period kicking that cap space can down the road just gave a little extra life to all the 35+ year old UFAs out there including Lewis and Talbot.

Bringing back Lewis is a fantastic move. Perfect character guy with enough game left to play on the 4th line.

Talbot and Copley as the goalie tandem. There's a realistic chance they'll be worse than Quick and Petersen last season.

Could be. Or Copley could position himself as a true #1. Assume the plan is let them hold it together and see what we can afford at the deadline if it turns out the way most think it will.

Interesting that the goalie who beat the Rangers in 2014 is now ON the Rangers, and the Rangers backup in 2014 is now on the Kings.....
Well we also just sorta traded Korpisalo for Talbot, so let’s hope that their new contract values aren’t indicative of their relative performances this coming season.

Is the water that nasty in Calgary? Seems Like most players want out.

True, anything COULD happen, but are you gonna take the odds on that to Vegas? I don’t think so, because the Quick/Peterson combo had to be historically bad.
Last years squad likely would have cruised to a 112-116 point season, had they gotten .900 level goaltending consistently through the first 2/3 of the season.

I’m not saying this pairing is going to get us through the first round of the playoffs, particularly considering it’s extremely likely we’re going to face Edmonton or Vegas again, but, I doubt it’s going to be -worse-. For what’s it’s worth, the way Edmonton was playing at the end of last season and into the playoffs, I don’t think ANY goalie, including Hellybuck or Saros, would have gotten us past the Oilers.
