Additional takes, after sleeping on it:
Cerrillo had a great game (until he didn't mark Messi on his goal)...he was all over Messi, and he did exactly what you want your D midfielder to do...stop plays, execute take-aways, mark the attackers, get the ball out on turn-overs. He was surprisingly good considering Brugman is still out. If he can keep this up, he may play his way to being a starter for good.
Yoshida and Caceres were excellent. Yoshida had A GAME!!!
My only concern is the miles on these two. They are going to need some rotation. They can't do 90 minutes back to back to back.
We need Neal back ASAP. Also, Miami is "slow", and I wonder how this backline would do against a fast team, or quick counter team.
That type of team "could" break them. I hope not.
As the season goes on, and the whole team gets time go gel and learn about each other, I hope Puig figures out that he can do "less", and distribute / pass more. Sure the last couple of years he has to do everything, but this year there is quality. He can now avoid dribbling around and trying to go through everyone on his own. He can learn now to be selective, and exploit the space when available, but also not having to do it every time, and he can pass and distribute to make our attack even faster.
Hope Brugman is good to go for this weeks match, because of Delgado.....how do you go in for a tackle like that when you are on a yellow?!?!? Sure he missed him, but what if he didn't? I wonder if Brugman is still quite a ways off because why didn't Greg sub out Delgado on the yellow for Brugman....especially considering this ref?......meh.....who am I kidding...its Greg.
