THE AMERICANS Season 1 Episode 2 Recap | Collider

There’s something missing in The Americans that I can’t quite put my finger on.

And that's about it. I think it's the fact that, so far, the characters are only identifiable as 'the husband' or 'the wife'. It's hard to FEEL anything for either of them despite a lot of (awkward) attempts to humanize them. The husband has so far been the one closest to actually resembling a human being. Keri Russel has a LOT of work to do. Even the scenes with her daughter were almost painfully alien attempts to show some emotional side. I think the fact that both of them sleep with others with apparently more passion than they show each other doesn't help either. I think this show has tremendous potential, but I just think the cold in cold war is gonna toss viewers out before they have a chance to turn it around. Noah Emmerich is doing some nice work. So far, just a little icky in general. Gonna stick with it, and I hope the audience does too...but I can see this being a one and done interesting failure.

And it seems like I say this every season, but DAMN if Justified isn't shaping up to be another great season. So different from past seasons, and that's a good thing.

I love me some Justified, even when it is just filler, but the plots of Raylan vs. the boxer and Boyd vs. the preacher really felt like filler to get to 13 total episodes before getting back to the actual story of the skydiver and Boyd vs. Wynn.

Alright, so is anyone still watching The Americans? I've got all the episodes on the DVR and am wondering if it's worth the time.

Still watching...and yes. It is slowly coming together. Biggest gripe is that they are hard to like, especially the wife. But backstory and motivations are being revealed and it's coming together well. Margo Martindale(Mags Bennett) has just come on and that's NEVER a bad thing. The second episode ratings went down considerably but the DVR numbers were up/high so I think, barring a complete reversal/decline this gets at least another season. Really think this one is a grower and not a shower so far.

In other Fx news...really people...YOU NEED TO WATCH LEGIT! If you like Louie you will like this in the fact that it has that weird 'is this a comedy' feel to it without it being derivative. The characters are likeable and there's some damned fine casting going on in the background. Max Gail(Barney Miller/DC Cab) and Damone from Fast Times at Ridgemont High were on last weeks episode. The stuff with DJ Qualls is pretty good too. There is a real sweet side to this show about a trio of...well...jerkoffs really.

His monologue to his girlfriend on who should own guns was fantastic!

ARCHER 4.06 'Once Bitten' | CraveOnline

The snake/bread drawing WAS pretty funny. But if the actor who did the voice of Archer's father was a tip off, than he is a character that has been on the show before...

SPOILERS

I REPEAT SPOILERS

Peter Serafinowicz was the voice of the guy who gave Cyril the 'hunhhunch, whatwhat' virus with the 2 ninja babe sidekicks. So we shall see where that goes. Me, I still want to know the real name of Conway Stern. C'mon Archer????When you gonna pay that one off?

Americans is getting better. Adgy, if you cleared them you should look for the Americans marathon that is coming up. It's a good show that is continuosly getting better.

And folks, LEGIT...WATCH IT.

I thought the last episode was kind of "meh". A little more depressing than funny..

Fair point, it was a little more touchy/feeley than most. But that's what I like about the show. It has an odd tone that doesn't necessarily rely on all the joke joke quiet moment joke commercial tropes of a usual sitcom.

Ben Stiller Returns to ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT; Kathy Bates to Play Villain in AMERICAN HORROR STORY Season 3 | Collider

Cool, there is your s4 Academy Award winner they teased, Bates vs Lange...oooh good stuff!

Additionally, though we don’t yet know the setting or subtitle for the third season of Ryan Murphy‘s FX anthology series American Horror Story, TV Line reports that Kathy Bates is in talks to join the cast as the season’s primary baddie. Bates will apparently be playing the best friend of Jessica Lange’s new character, who eventually turns into her enemy. That’s an excellent bit of casting if you ask me, and I’m eager to see what kind of character the Oscar-winning Misery actress will be playing.

What we do know about American Horror Story season three is that it will take place in modern day, we will see different time periods and different cities, it will be “lighter” in tone than Asylum, and there will be a Romeo and Juliet-esque love element. The currently confirmed cast for the new season includes Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Taissa Farmiga, and Frances Conroy.
