FX Adapting Fairy-Tale Novel 'The Changeling' for TV (Exclusive)

After a competitive situation with multiple outlets bidding, the cable network is adapting Victor LaValle's 2017 novel, The Changeling, for the small screen.

The Changeling is described as a fairy tale for grown-ups. Set in a New York no one knew existed, the drama focuses on the death-defying odyssey of Apollo Kagwa and Emma Valentine as they look to find out what happened to the son who was removed from them. On their voyage, they will travel through enchanted isles and haunted woodlands, meet glowing witches, demon giants and racist cops. They will deal with the perils of personal technology and social media, toxic masculinity, the mental health of new mothers and fathers, and find out if surviving a fairy tale is as brutal as simply surviving in Trumplandia.

Ok...I'm gonna have to check out this book.

Just finished season 2 of LEGION, and I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it. Noah Hawley is BRILLIANT. Nothing has ever captured a comic book vibe quite like this. If you were a fan of Morrison's Doom Patrol, you will find a LOT to love here. A simple story at it's heart, swaddled in the most surreal trappings and abstract concepts. When this show returns next season, I will watch as I watched season 2...after it's completion. This is not a weekly story. This is almost mandatory binge watching...but pace yourself. It's heady stuff and deserves a little reflection. I truly hope that Hawley gets to take on Doctor Doom post merger, I really do. Not for everyone, but if you are daring...it is highly recommended.

btw, one episode, I think episode 6...is so beautiful...and bizarre. Just stunning. You'll know when you get there.

This is just a sample of the pleasures of this show. Jon Hamm as the narrator. Just the icing on the cake.

Man I gave this up for Dietland. I'll have to go back.

(and with respect to #metoo and the premise of Dietland, no harm meant by the "man" in that sentence)

So who wants to explain just what the $Q#&^ is happening on AHS?

Such questions may include (spoiler-ish):

- Is Kathy Bates' character poisoned with radiation than?
- Why do Lana Winters and the LOTR elf looking guy hate each other?
- How did the snakes come back to life in the soup?
- Who is the rubber man/woman and how did he/she become the dude's grandma?
- Are they all secretly dead and in some kind of purgatory/hell?

I didn't see Season 1 so probably adding to confusion. I'm also going to be really pissed off if this goes all The Village.

I'll take this one. First off...A tremendous amount of gay stuff. And, I'm puzzled because it is very dark twisted stuff or really campy stereotype stuff. Ryan Murphy no longer seems interested with advancing the image of gay on TV, instead opting to run peoples noses in kink.
The acting, even from standouts like Evan Peters(that's a good porn name), and Sarah Paulson is...shaky. In fact, the whole 2 episodes have seemed VERY amateurish.

Here we go. I think we are being set up. I think by episode 4, he is going to turn the whole thing on its head, and 360 the whole setup. Otherwise, this is gonna be one HELL of a disappointment.

So, yeah...as far as your questions...who knows.

Oh yeah, it's supposed to tie into COVEN season somehow too.
