All Things:HBO/CINEMAX

Pretty disappointed with the end of TD myself, but I got to reiterate a life lesson to the wife:
If you're going to murder a bunch of mobsters and try to make your way out of the area via car, leave some room between you and the car in front of you, as to allow for a quick escape, should you obviously be trapped by an enemy.

I know it wasn't the same guys who did him in, but such principles are important for a man to instill in his family.

Heck, don't they teach you that in driving school?

One of the big issues was that you can't have a plot that complicated split up into eight pieces that people experience a week apart. A James Ellroy book, like any of the ones that Pizzolato ripped off, is read continuously (or at least in bunches that are not too far apart) so it is easy to follow along and keep the whole conspiracy in mind. A movie, like The Big Sleep, which I read confused the screenwriter (some scrub named William Faulkner), makes perfect sense to me when I watch it.

The other thing is that Vince Vaughn's character never should have been on the show. As much as I enjoyed him in the last few episodes, minus the end of the finale, he was the most removed from the other three and their story could have completely worked with him reduced to a supporting character that Velcoro talks to a few times. Less of him is more time with the other three, to be more familiar with them and the plot. Tim Riggins is almost unnecessary as well, except mostly for his combat skills that Ani and Velcoro can't have. But the story felt padded in places already in ways that the first season did not, and the first season had two characters and we never burned clock hearing about their childhoods. Was it just the director lingering on all the awesome backgrounds in the first season?

Anyways, if you don't have eight episodes of material, don't make eight episodes, or else spend more time writing until you do have eight episodes of material.

And yes, I half-expected the boat to get pulled over by the Coast Guard or something.

Was one of the Mexicans at the end a member of the Blanco family, from an outer borough of New York?

Loved the movie. I have high hopes for this...

Watched the first two-hours of 'Show Me a Hero' on Sunday. It was very... politics-heavy, but watchable.

"Ballers" season finale... establish status quo, end where you started... OK...

Seriously, Strike Back is one of the best shows on TV and totally puts 24 and Mission Impossible to shame.

And I'm still angry about the death on the last episode..

Does HBO's first drama get enough credit all these years later?

No. The answer is no. Oz, despite a ridiculous amount of full frontal man ass, was a terrific show telling multiple stories of numerous characters. Like Game of Thrones, very few were safe, and it introduced the world to the magical J.K. Simmons. Yeah, OZ was a terrific show. RyannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnNNNNNNN

Damon Lindelof: 'I was really depressed' writing 'Leftovers' season 1

What a great read, whether you like Lindelof/Leftovers or not. Really honest. Season 2 starts Sunday and I for one, CANNOT WAIT. This was one of my top shows last year precisely for the reasons a lot of people disliked it. Depressing and beautiful at the same time.

I liked the first few episodes but it felt as if lost direction midway thru the season.

I actually favor depressing and beautiful. IMHO, The Leftovers just seems too "scattered" atm.

Have you tried Rectify?

HBO’s ‘Westworld’ Sounds Like It’s Going To Have Some, Um, Interesting Sex Scenes
http://uproxx.com/tv/2015/09/westworld-sex-scene/

Deadline dug up a consent agreement Westworld extras had to sign, including an acknowledgement that “this project will require you to be fully nude and/or witness others fully nude and participate in graphic sexual situations.” Such as… wear pubic hair; be cool with “genital-to-genital touching”; oral sex simulation with “hand-to-genital touching”; “contort to form a table-like shape while being fully nude”; and pose on all fours while a naked person rides you like a horse, or you can ride them like a horse, too. While nude, obviously.

I actually just binged on Leftovers over the weekend. Can't wait until next season.
