Gore Verbinski on his Defunct BioShock - ShockTillYouDrop.com

wow, woulda been R

"I couldn't really get past anybody that would spend the money that it would take to do it and keep an R-rating," he explained of why the project failed to develop, "Alternately, I wasn't really interested in pursuing a PG-13 version. Because the R rating is inherent. Little Sisters and injections and the whole thing. I just wanted to really, really make it a movie where, four days later, you're still shivering and going, "Jesus Christ!"... It's a movie that has to be really, really scary, but you also have to create a whole underwater world, so the pricetag is high. We just didn't have any takers on an R-rated movie with that pricetag."

Little did they know that their actions disturbed the native folk who despise outsiders.
These watermen are the anomalous sea clan locally known as the ?Guineamen? who inhabit the nearby marshy islands. They?re a preternatural and isolated community of fishermen who date back to Cornwallis? army of 1781. They rarely interact with the outside world and are rumored to have webbed feet. And now the young friends find themselves starring into the salty eyes of these ancient clan men.
A bad situation turns worse when they are drugged and captured by the watermen. They awake horrified and confused; they realize they are trapped on a small island, and their plans for escape turn to plans of attack. It?s a fight for survival as the friends try to escape the remote island and merciless clutches of the watermen. Will they survive?

Wrong Turn 4 Sounds Like Cold Prey, Leaves the Woods - ShockTillYouDrop.com

This time, college kids go snowmobiling (so there's a winter element) and to find shelter from a storm, they make a "wrong turn" and wind up in an isolated asylum. Some of the patients, it turns out, are still there, naturally.

It sounds like they're abandoning the mutant rednecks of the first three films and going in a different direction. The set up sounds a lot like Cold Prey.
