All Things HORROR

My wife said after watching this trailer that there is no way this movie could be more scary than the Nuns she had in 6 years of Catholic School.

I often wonder if one has to be raised Catholic to fully appreciate Nunsploitation films.

Not really, haha, but it probably helps.

Considering how much I like the original Bad Seed movie, I can not not watch this Lifetime Channel version, haha. :D

Heartwarming Lifetime Channel stuff, lol. Speaking of which, I didn't know until recently that the girl in the original Bad Seed movie grew up to play the wife of Jeffrey Tambor's character in The Ropers TV show.

Apparently there was a version of this to be directed by Eli Roth, that was supposed to be more in line with what you probably wanted.

Oh, yeah, I totally remember that. I think talk of a Roth The Bad Seed went back to The Hostel days or so.

Anyways, this The Bad Seed remake was pretty blaaah. Pretty inoffensive. What you would expect a Lifetime Channel remake of this to look like.

I can't wait until Lifetime puts out a remake of something like The Last House on the Left. mhihi: rolleyes: :manybeers:

[Review] Eli Roth?s ?The House With a Clock in Its Walls? is Fun Gateway Horror That?s Not Afraid to Deliver Scares

Somehow this book escaped me as a kid and I didn't hear about it until I heard about the movie. Since it sounded interesting, I read a book, and it was good as far as kids creepy books go. Plus some of the cast in this movie is good so this could be fun.

Full disclosure. I DO NOT like Italian horror. Dancing gives me terrible douche chill anxiety. I tend to resent what is considered 'Prestige' horror that claims to be GRANDER than the material, and is usually heralded by stories of people swooning. And I definitely raise an eyebrow when usually genre hating critics pick a horror movie to trot out as their 'see, we don't look down on horror' consensus choice.

Well ****.

Despite all those things...and an almost defiantly '**** you' attitude, this movie left me speechless and SHAKY. If anyone ever tells you this is their fave movie...they are posing or truly deeply disturbed. And you should report them.

that being said, this is for you guys out there. Luc...Tiger...Orph...and anyone else that loves a lucid nightmare that just hypnotizes you. But beware, like a great dream or nightmare, it's tenuous and abstract. There are enough moments of clarity to...at least mimic what you have seen before and have you succumb to the madness, but if you need traditional structure, look elsewhere.
