This is gonna be odd. Seems like a try to be very legit, but...it's a video game flick. Will taking the admittedly kinda highbrow material...highbrow...alienate the gamers more, or bring in the non gamers more. Fassbender, Like Tom Hardy...has always been one foot in, one foot out artsy/commercial, so this one really bears watching. 3 words...Prince of Persia.

This should do it. If nothing else it truly looks like nothing I have seen before. The story looks a lot more complex than you would expect within the confines of the 'quest' type movie.

The Warcraft back story was pretty well developed even at the time of the first game's release in the early 90'. So there's a ton to draw from.

It’s a giddy windup, and director Chris Columbus (Home Alone) sweats to give it a joy-buzzer pace. But neither Sandler nor his listless writers (too many punchlines just sit there and collect flies) seem invested. Whether he’s saving the planet or putting the moves on Michelle Monaghan, Sandler can’t be bothered to raise his pulse above comatose. If he doesn’t care, why should anyone else? D+
