Goodbye Silver Jerseys...at least for this season. New third jersey on the way

These were more popular with the fanbase.

They were incredibly popular but two things:

1) the reverse retro was a league wide initiative so the Kings weren't bringing these back...nor do I believe they are allowed to. There may very well be a new reverse retro for next season.
2) The team wants the third jersey to use the current colors: black, white and silver. This does that and uses the chevron again which as I said, is very popular. Yes, color would be appreciated and widely popular but not gonna happen.

Keep it up, Kings and Luc, keep helping me save my money.

These are frickin' dull.

I thought they were....????

I would guess they are the most popular jersey they have sold since they got ride of the Gretzky era chevron. The biggest mistake they made was underestimating the popularity as it was one of the first, if not the first, to completely sell out. They could have sold quite a bit more but producing more was apparently not doable. It should be very clear to them that forum blue and gold are very popular but internally, they are sticking to their current color scheme for most everything they release.

They are less dull than the Heritage version last year, at least they made an effort to change the sleeves and numbers. Unfortunately, it doesn't feel like the changes are significant enough.

But just imagine how much buzz you'll generate if you get and wear the shiny chrome helmet that goes with it !!! ;-P

It's ****ing hideous.

The entire design department should be fired.

^^^^^THIS!!^^^^^

That sparkly "silver" is gross.

If this is the trend, they forgot to bedazzle the names and numbers...

Jersey will be worn 15 times, first against the Caps on 11/17. It will also go onsale that day both at the TEAM LA store in Staples and teamlastore.com

?The feedback from our players ? current and past players ? is they universally love this sweater,? said Kings President and Hockey Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille. ?Along with the strong sentiment from our fans, it was really a no-brainer for us to continue to highlight the logo, to highlight the jersey.?

Said Kings Chief Operating Officer Kelly Cheeseman: ?This is an announcement we have been very much looking forward to. There is a large demand by our fans to see the uniform on the ice and to wear this merchandise in our community. We continue to be identified by this classic logo, this iconic brand in pop culture and beyond, so we felt it was imperative to continue re-incorporating it into our marketing efforts.?

My daughter just said, "Well, it's better than the silver jersey." Ummmm, yeah that's a pretty low bar, though....

Kings need cash....pandemic....low ticket sales....poor on ice product...etc...

......solution: Design a jersey to sell that maybe 25% of your die-hard jersey buying fans might like.

Add this to the brilliant ideas that have been coming out of the Kings organ-eye-zation over the past years.....white pants, Mister Cartoon, The Royal Jesters supporters group, creepy Luc statue, Bailey banging the hand drum, Arena MC......
How can it be this hard? Nobody in the front office can get a finger on the pulse of the fans?

I have seen some positive reaction on social but still a lot of "bring back purple and gold" responses.

Oh, okay Steve. I don't have any social media accounts so this was my only frame of reference. But the chance to post a Devil Wears Prada gif (three actually) and maybe get a like...? Had to be done.

I miss David Courtney, Warren Wiebe’s America the Beautiful , Bob Miller, and the silent Kingston mascot.

It is like we are now wearing the Chinese knockoff version of the Chevy jersey. How can we take an awesome opportunity and "just barely meet expectations" if this was an annual performance review.

I miss John Ramsey, Bob Miller, the organist playing "Go Kings Go", the testing of "siren" goal light at the start of a game, and the $5 tickets I could buy being a student.

Oh, I had forgotten about the testing of the goal lights. I always loved that for some reason. Probably because it was the only time we got to see them light up when we weren't being scored against, lol

Every . . . single . . . game . . . from the NHL, I miss John Ramsey and the PA announcers of his generation. What we have had to endure the last few decades is a descent into the Circle of Hell reserved for carnival barkers, used car salesmen, and (m)ad men. I often mute the signal when these a**hats are spewing their verbal ejaculations. Their is no restraint in their announcements, and there certainly is no honour. (Yes, I'm well aware that the only reason these guys are chosen is because the teams' marketing departments believe it's important for the promotion of their in-house products. So, **** em, they can all drown and burn together in the Inferno.)
