Confirmed with Link Kings name Holland their 10th GM in History

LD1 has been the biggest hole on the team for quite a while now. Blake ignored it. Hope Holland has some answers. A first pairing of Mikey and Drew aren’t leading this team to a Cup.

Spence is too small. He has neither the talent nor the toughness to overcome that reality.

Miller is only 25 and a RFA. Perhaps he could be re-educated… but his game was heading in the wrong direction this past season. His point totals have steadily declined for the last 2 seasons, as has his +/-. On the other hand, he is 6’ 5” and 210 lbs.

If Byram isn't attainable, it would be foolish not to consider Miller.

The Kings can't improve LD over Gavrikov without either giving up too much of what they don't have a lot (assets) for an established player or a bit of gamble with a younger player with untapped potential who hit a plateau. When it comes to UFAs there seems to be very slim pickings...

Rangers fans like to bag on Miller and I don't watch him enough to see if it is warranted. He was very good prior to the draft, however. I don't know how high of an asking price he would have, but in some ways he is a better fit than even Byram.

Sounds like he will be a boom or bust player, however.

Boom or bust seems like a perfect description of Ken's hire. So...maybe that's a fit there.

Well, since a large portion of the free agents we would love to have on this team are immigrants, they're probably on the protesters' side. So, not really sure if that's the stone you want to throw.
You mean "rioters". Considering the emigrated free agents followed an appropriate process to be here, and the fact that they actually worked for it, they likely would not be on the rioters side. Not sure if that's a stone you want to throw.

I hate to say it, but given how fast salaries are rising I think you are right (though I'd prefer a 6 year deal).
He's going to get 7 years minimum. One dimensional defensemen with average foot speed do not age gracefully. 8.5 on a 4 year deal would sting but you can work around it. 7/8 years at that cap hit he turns into a boat anchor. It just doesn't make sense for a team that's looking to lift the ceiling on their gameplay not strengthen their defensive foundation.

Gavirkov is an excellent d-man but he's replaceable.

Wow, there's just no good way to build a roster after giving Marner 14 million to be a regular season superstar. Thanks for posting that roster build. It was very illustrative.

Not everyone is a "rioter." There are a lot of people out there exercising their constitutional right to protest peacefully.

The Kings have very limited assets this off-season. Their best prospects are 2+ years away from possibly being NHL regulars. They don’t have a 2nd round pick in this draft. Their 1st round pick is in the mid 20s.

If you go the route of retaining Gavrikov & Kuzmenko or Boesser you’ve spent $14M and you still need an impact player to put the team over the hump. Where is he going to play? Who is available on the trade market and why? Then we need to ask why would his team accept the trade package from the Kings?
