Last Movie Watched

Just watched "Predestination". Holy Sh**balls was that good! My brain hurts, it was that awesome!

Definately recommend if youre into sci-fi, mindbenders.

Curious to know what you think of Starry Eyes. It is not a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination...but I had my issues with it.

I'll probably check it out sometime this week and post on it. There hasnt been much to do out east here for the past few weeks with all the snow so Ive been catching up on drinking, ****ing, video games and movies.

Just watched John Wick last night. It was alright for a KR movie. The less he talks, the better the role, imho. Not my cup of genre but decent nonetheless.

Did you check out Babadook? What's your thoughts on that?

Not yet, waiting for it to come in the mail. I'm odd that way, either see it in a theater or on Blu/Dvd. I am not a digital guy.

I hear ya. I dont mind digital. I'm lazy and hate people so Digital helps contribute to my introversion. I'll still go to the theater if I see a trailer I like.

Don't be lazy...the movie theater is still the greatest communal experience. As long as folks aren't a-holes. We have become very adept at knowing when and where to go see a flick in order to cut down our chances of bad experiences. I watch schtuff at home and I am extremely likely to nod off...it's just what I do. Even during a good movie.

This has been in my que for some time now. My wife refuses to watch it, although she loves horror. lol.

I need to get around to watching that and Starry Eyes.

It's pretty damn scary even though it falls about a bit in the 3rd act.

I have Starry Eyes to watch as well.

I haven't been watching movies much lately because I've been watching Twin Peaks, but here's what I got.

The Big Sleep - Not sure I'd call this the Greatest Black And White Film Ever Made, but I really liked it. By now, this type of story has been done a million times, but Bogart was still pretty great and his chemistry with Bacall was pretty fantastic, too. Trying not to get sucked in to wanting to watch every noir flick that shows up on TCM, but this is making it difficult.

Jerry And Tom - Joe Mantegna is a calm, cool veteran hitman teaching a young, rambunctious Sam Rockwell the ropes. You've seen this story a dozen times, and you can guess how it's going to end about 10 minutes in, but the performances, and there are a lot of great character actors in small bits here, and the way the story is told work really well. I don't plan on buying this, but I thought it was solid and worth watching. I think Mantegna is a really good actor who never really gets much attention and I really like seeing him in roles like this.

The Hangover Part 3 - Actually enjoyed this more than I expected to, though it wasn't all that funny (it had it's moments).

G.I. Joe: Retaliation - I don't know why I bothered, honestly. I did make it all the way through, so I guess that means it was better than the first one, but that's a pretty low ****in' bar.

I Am Waiting - Japanese noir. There wasn't a whole hell of a lot about this movie that was notable, other than the charisma of a young Yujiro Ishihara and an attractive Mie Kitahara. I liked it well enough, but don't care if I ever see it again.

Why Don't You Play In Hell? - Sion Sono is *this* close to being my new favorite director alive. This is a ****ing blast of insanity from start to finish. Loved every second of it.

Watched this for the first time in like 25 years and for the first time ever in HD. So, so good! Holds up really well, in fact.

I LOVE Eastwood. Politics aside he's one of my absolute favorite actors, ever.

And Justice For All. Great movie that was on this morning. A very young Al Pacino and Jack Crazyman Warden with some very good lines
