***Playoffs Rd 1, GM 6 GDT - Oilers vs. Kings 4/29/23 >>7:00pm<< on BSSC & TBS***

There's a lot of little things that went wrong in their series, but the biggest bites them in the ass again...SPECIAL TEAMS.

I don’t think this is the last time this Kings team meets the Oilers in the playoffs. In fact I think we’ll see them again next season.

Great season from the Kings. Edmonton is much better. Lots of things to address in the off season. Like the defense. And get rid of QB please. Kings have a very good offensive team, but the D is horrible.

I can’t believe anyone is blaming the goaltending. Korpisolo is the only reason the Kings won a single game.

This team is a collection of soft players, with gigantic holes on defense. Good enough for the black hole, that’s it.

We need someone with size and strength to fill the slot that Edler/Walker/Spense rotate through. I like Durzi, but like Fiala, I genuinely can’t tell you if those two help or hurt this team.

Kupari needs to score or dump him. Byfield needs time (he’s only 20). Kopi and Doughty are dinosaurs.

The goaltending was the ONLY bright spot here.

Korpisalo was below average from the 3-0 lead in game 4. That was mathieu Garon level goaltending. Stop the hard ones, let the easy ones in. He competed deflated their effort tonight. Every time they got back in it, he blew it. That is not a big game goalie.

The oilers are a better team than they were last playoff, so credit to them for the improvement from mcDavids and Edmonton PPs.

However, from the Kings perspective they just gave Edmonton way too much time and space this series. Edmonton got too comfortable in their 5 on 5 execution.

This... seemed so much of this series (save for period 1 game 4; and period 2 tonight) the Oil were just able to play in the Kings zone at will.

I blame that guy I saw at Dodgers Stadium wearing an oilers #29 jersey for UCLA night.

Areas of concern:

1) Goaltending
2) PK
3) Get pushed around way too much
4) Mental...how many blown leads?

I'm not sure what Blake can do to fix all of this.

Next bad thing to happen?: Ducks win lottery. Argh.

jom

TMac has got to go. He's done all he can for this team. The same coach that choked a 3-0 series lead to the same coach that choked a 3-0 lead. He doesn't know how to adjust.

Team showed growth overall, with tremendous offense and PP during the regular season.

Our defense and goaltending was an issue all year long. And it looks like we just got exposed as that same team basically.

Love people defending Korpi. Maybe the worst 3 games I've ever seen from a goalie in the playoffs. QB needs to go be an accountant or something. Nothing NHL in his bones. Todd needs to go. Nothing about being a winner in his. Same things I bitched about all year, and Korpi come playoffs. Choke fest. Softies. Whatever. First round exit. Was proud last year of the group. Not so much this year. Kings forwards were amazing this year, and the power play. Truly spectacular. Our D and goalie and coach situation - ****.

this!

Don’t forget that Korpi also had two clear goals saved by defensemen tonight

It is kind of funny that people are putting all the blame on Korpi, when the team in front of him played completely like ****. They got out worked, out played lost the puck battles, couldn't box out the Oilers from in front of their net, they couldn't even clear the puck out their zone cleanly and Korpi is the bad guy. Those two OT wins Korpi had a lot to do with them winning, could he played better probably yes. He made quite a bit of great saves but the Oilers just had to many great scoring chances. Look at the offensive time difference in this series. 75% of the game was played in the Kings zone.

Scouting report on Korpi: shoot high from far. The end.

Whatever - you're all beautiful Kings fans. Have a nice summer. Bye.

Go Golden Knights, Quicky and Martinez.

Ducks win Bedard lottery?.. geez dude way to kick us when we're down, lol.

When is TMac's contract over? Blake made a tough decision in letting Quickie go...let's see if he can fire his own coach. I would start there. Then, see want Gavricov wants and hopefully it's not too much and sign him. He's big, but a good skater. Blake's gotta let some of these small guys go. Korpisalo wasn't bad, but he wasn't good either, I'll see what's out there in the goalie market.

I get not putting all the blame on Korpisalo, but to excuse him from blame is beyond me. Look at the shots tonight. One of every five was in our net. You’re not going to win that way. On top of that, defense literally stopped two sure goals for him. He was weak. I don’t blame him as much as I blame the coach for sticking with him.

Supposedly has 1 year left. Ugh.

Unlikely to fire him and eat that 5 mil.. but one can hope.

What? Kupari played 5 minutes tonight. Obviously the last two D slots have been weak. But you are making excuses specifically for QB and Korpi? You must have turned the series off after game 3

That Kupari played 5 minutes is not a defense of his play. Brutal series for him.
