***Playoffs Round 1 Game 3 Edmonton Oilers vs. LA Kings 7:00pm on BSSC & TBS***

What adjustments can we make? I think my boy AA gets a healthy scratch?

The Kings aren?t doing anything worse than they did all through the regular season. It?s not that the Kings are being embarrassed. It?s just that Edmonton is finally playing up to it?s hype and preseason expectations. The Oilers have a huge amount of premier talent on that team. The Kings, however, do not.

Let?s start with adding Forsberg and Chychrun, please.

^^^This. I didn't pick the Kings to win even though I don't trust Mike Smith as a playoff goalie. Oilers were 11-0-1 in their last 12 at home with the SO loss against Colorado. Kings made it because the West sucks and in spite of missing Doughty. This is great playoff experience to show what we have in the kids/players and what we need to get. Get Chychrun. Make the run at Forsberg with Brown's salary space. This season has been very good for results but it has been great for playing the kids. We've had tons of chances to see what we've got due to things like the Doughty injury. And throwing them into the playoffs is even better for seeing what we have and what we need. We need some of our premier talent to start playing like it, too.

The “entertainment” is completely over the top. Nothing worse than spending hundreds on tickets to watch your team get embarrassed while being forced to hear a PA guy screaming in between crappy loud music. Unfortunately, it will probably continue to get louder/worse.

I sound like a grumpy old man but I totally agree. Kings entertainment is so over the top now. Even the Go Kings Go with the organ. We had to add the electric guitar to it to make it sound that more extreme. It is like when we got rid of Brooklyn Boyars, they replaced her with this guy:

David Courtney was great. I like Dave Joseph although people like Beedee didn't and gave him credit for trying to fill some huge shoes. But the post-COVID guy is like a carnival barker. We're losing 5-1 and he's going completely over the top with the Kings goal call. smh

YOU FORGOT:

8) The "in arena entertainment" was awful. What genre was that? Rap? Rock? Rage Against The Machine?

I loved it. My style of music.

9) Can we blow out DJ Vickone? And why the close ups of him
10) Brooklyn wannabe break dancers must stop
yeah, these I can do without

11) Also stop the drum line
I can take it or leave it with the drum line. But they should just stay up on one of the platforms, not annoying people down in the 100s during the game (and when they did that thing, we couldn't even hear it in the 300s - so, yay?)

12) Those Oiler fans in the 100 level got some sweet ducats. I mean - how does the opposing team get group tickets all in the same spot? We're talkin' 20 - 25. Not the occasional 4 or 6...but a gaggle of orange.
a Canadian friend of mine is in a group called "Canadians abroad" and they get tickets in that section to all the Canadian teams during the season, so probably a pre-arranged deal. I have gotten to sit there with her in the past.

This series is over in 5 games. This inexperienced guys for the Kings don't stand a chance against this Oilers team. No idea how they even won game 1, looking like they did in games 2 and 3.

I have been watching this team for 30+ years. I can’t remember a lineup without at least ONE (1) player that could throw a decent body check until now. No ability to hit. I don’t think I’m exaggerating. Maybe the game has changed but wow LAK are soft right now…

The Kings have been outmuscled all season, and the last two games were basically a microcosm of the entire year. They let the other teams set up in front of the net and get pushed around. It's not for lack of effort...we're just too damn small.

Two things you cannot teach: Speed and size. We're fast enough, but we desperately need some big nasty bodies. In 2012 the Kings brought up Nolan and King for that exact purpose and it paid off in Stanley Cups. I understand the game is changing...blah blah blah...but ice hockey will always be a physical sport, and it's painful to watch this team getting manhandled game after game after game....

i know emotions are high following 2 blowout losses, but let's be real here. Hardly anybody here gave the Kings a chance to make the playoffs this season, and now a lot of the same people are going on rants about how bad the Kings are. They aren't bad. Like, at all. They are coming out of a rebuild, down their top two defensemen, and playing a ton of rookies/inexperienced players (which everyone has been asking for). And despite the Oilers record, most picked them to finish top 2 in the division. They have arguably two of of best players in the game. And yeah, the King's weaknesses have been exposed, but that's pretty much what happens in the playoffs.

I know we all want to see them win, but if you can't be happy with how this season has gone i'd suggest you take a step back and look at the totality of the season.

Don't get me wrong, not only am I happy the Kings are in the playoffs for the first time in years, I'm also happy I actually get to see the games because that was in doubt for a while.

I didn't expect the Kings to make it out of the first round, even though the first round is not over yet, they'll have a tough road in front of them getting by the Oilers.

What I'm not happy about is getting pushed around and losing the last two games by six goals each.

And I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion here, but now I'm beginning to wonder about management, and yes that includes both the coach and GM.

Whatever. I'm just going to enjoy the next two games, and hopefully more... but man it still bothers me watching this team get pushed around. It bothers me more than the losses.

It's hockey 101, and evident watching any team that knows how to score...you have to shoot high. Pick corners as goalies go down in butterfly.

Off the top of my head from last game Kempe and durzi shot golden opportunities low for routine kick saves while EDM shot up, picking corners. I'm watching avs game right now, top corner goals all night! The players know this, i account it to choking.

^^THIS^^

I live in Edmonton, and the biggest disappointment in this town is that this series is going beyond a sweep. No one, including me, expected the Kings to even be here, and that they?re giving the Oilers a bigger fight than they were expecting is a huge positive. It?s also good exposure for the young guys (looking at you Byfield) to see what it takes to win in this league. I, for one, feel a lot of positivity about the Kings

I agree with this also. That said, this is feeling like a 5-game sweep right now, and it's hard to argue the Kings are putting up a fight after losing the last two games by six goals each. How these next two (or, hopefully more) games shape out will color my perception of this series. Even if the Kings lose them both, but they're close, then, yes, the Kings would have put up a valiant fight with their limited resources.

We have 1 line we can count on and EDM knows this and has stifled it.
The rest can be moved around.
Stetcher has bite, is Strand available? Jacob Moverare has size.
Lias in for Lizotte, Lias has some bite & size.
Cal in for Quick.

There are options, will Todd make any?
