Oops I missed the post! As much as I love don't turn away and Pulley, getting to Santa Ana on a Friday would be murder for me. I might go Saturday as I love big choice (prob my favorite album of theirs). Although there are rumors unwritten law may be reaching deep into their old catalog for this one which is tempting. Plus everything's your fault and handout are two of my favorite face to face songs and I never get to hear them live.haha, ya, i posted on the last page before this one that i was likely going to the first night of that trifecta. don't turn away is one of my most favorite albums of all time.

well, a buddy of mine just text me saying "I want to hear Gusto, let's go saturday". So I guess I'm going to try and see Guttermouth with them..haha, that's cool. ya, it is quite a drive, especially on a friday. and i think most people do prefer and/or know big choice best so it makes sense that they made that the saturday show. i would totally want to see the unwritten law/face to face bill but i'm pretty sure i will be all showed out by then. i'm in the middle of 4 shows in 2 weeks right now and then, if i go to that don't turn away show, it'll be 2 shows in one week at the end of december. before this fall, i'd only been going to about 2-3 shows/year since i became a mom. LOL. if i somehow change my mind, i will let you know and maybe we can say hello!

Tasty...
Face to Face doing three shows in December at the observatory, and playing each of their first three albums consecutively (1 each night)
12/26 (Pulley opening)
delayed reaction...yes they did but i didn't get to go so I'm happy.didn't they just play there? haha. that's awesome though. i would totally go if i still lived there.

I'm laughing as there is a band called Forever Came Calling opening, who's bio says they originally formed in 2006 "as a Senses Fail and Taking Back Sunday cover band"
winter of me rolls on
just heard of unwritten law playing december 27th at the canyon club in agoura. Two weekends in a row might (a) kill me, and (b) take some serious, serious goodwill on the part of my wife and kids.
but i'm going to try it
Holy $&@" you're right. For some reason I thought face to face was the week before! Oh well good thing I didn't buy tickets for the canyon club.
See I'm getting old!
Is Lucero that good? I know a few people who love them but never really listened
There ain't a better "crying in your beer at the bar at closing time" band out there right now.Is Lucero that good? I know a few people who love them but never really listened
When Brian Venable and I were starting our band Lucero, back in 1998, we had a few artists that we shared an appreciation for and whom we wanted to look to as inspiration for our own songs, and Tom Waits was one of those. We didn’t know much about the genre of music we were attempting to participate in, but we knew that if we tried to combine Tom Waits with The Pogues, Johnny Cash, and The Replacements we’d at least have a good time.
so funny I got that same description almost verbatim from a good friend of mineThere ain't a better "crying in your beer at the bar at closing time" band out there right now.
rascal flatts or eric church or something. But I'd say this is somewhat different?
someone recommend an album to start with

i really hate taking back sunday. that description is the lolz, for sure.
I'm not a big Brand New fan, but I'm pretty sure they covered one of their songs. Someone standing nearby said it was Seventy Times Seven or something...
