Punk...

In the same vein of Orpheus, not punk but........................

And as an old punk I do what ever the hell I want! a couple of cool/weird vids....

Saint Motel- Just My Type
An older vid from a couple of years ago. An LA band, "nerds" but they are very cool guys from what I hear. This vid has hot models in and has a 60's feel, just cool. Plus now this song is used in a buttload of commercials and radio ads.

The Growlers - I'll Be Around
Another cool/weird vid from a band from Dana Point.. Cool strung out party people and hagged out hot chicks. Plus I like his voice.

Sofi Tukker- Drinkee

Another song that is little older. Out of NYC, just weird! But a little cool. Turns the lights down low and have a great drink, or whatever you do and crank it!

An to further prove I post what ever the **** I want

John Legend!

John Legend - Darkness and Light

An Ohio lad with great pipes, and he is married to Si model Chrissy Tegan and I have heard them interviewed and they are down to earth cool folks.

Ok one more, a bonus out of the ordinary non-punk vid.

What happens when a Synth Lord teams up with a RB singer?

Holidae - Darkest Shade

From Minneapolis. Don't know anything about 'em. But she has a good voice and weird warpaint on. And the fact that only two dudes make all that sound is pretty cool.

Ok, I could go all night so I will stop.

Next up in a few days, or a few weeks or months..........

Regular stuff, Misfits, Discharge, Charged G.B.H., The Virus, Subhumans, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, U.S. Bombs, The Clash, The Unseen, X, Sex Pistols, Rancid, Varukers, One Way System, U.K. Subs, Mad Bomb, Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Youth Brigade, Youth of Today, JFA, Tiger Army, Mad Sin, A.F.I., The Descendants, DEVO, Adicts, FEAR, The Damned, Vice Squad, The Toy Dolls, Red Alert, The Business, Ignite, Zeke, Motorhead, Maid In Ace, Guano Bats, Damage Case, Gang Green, Off!, Drop Kick Murphy's, DOA, ALL, Et al.

That is all can come up with off the top of my head, there is way more great stuff! The soundtrack of my youth!

Ok, if you think that I perhaps had a drink or two while posting this..................guilty as charged!

Edit: How the hell did I forget Conflict, Bad Brains, and Anti-Nowhere League!

So IT IS in the same vein than Orpheus! Atta boy! :chums: :alky:

And since you mentioned D.O.A, it gave me an itch to listen to this. This whole album, actually, but I'll go with this song for today.

Ok, the fact you picked out D.O.A out of the bands I mentioned is very cool.

I actually hung out with them after show in Vancouver many years ago. It was very special show for me for a couple of reasons:

It was the night were I saw the future Mrs. KP set a d-bag straight. Actually kicked this big dudes ass, and that is when I knew she was the gal for me.

As I mentioned I we hung out with band after the show. BTW the guys from D.O.A. are cool guys, Joey ****head, Brian, Randy Rampage, and the great Chuck Biscuits or maybe it was Jon Card that night. We somehow got invited to hang out back stage, I think Joey saw my future wife kick the crap out of the trouble maker and decided to bring us back.

Cool dudes. We drank Moosehead brews with them and they asked as many questions of me as I did as them. As it happened I was wearing a D.O.A. shirt that I had bought from Middle Earth Records, a somewhat well known punk rock store in Downey, but one that I frequented. Turns out my shirt was a bootleg shirt, one that the band got no money from. I apologized and offered them $10 to them to make up for it, and the lads laughed "Oh Come on! Don't sweat it! Have another beer!"

It was great night and experience.

Later a pal from Vancouver, who was there that night, sent me an exclusive cassette tape by D.O.A, only available in Vancouver from some punk rock record store. One side is a live recording of that show I was at, and the other side, an interview with the band. His note said "You gotta listen to the interview, pay attention." So I did, and about 9 minutes in Joey starts talking about bootleg merch and how a lot punk bands are being ripped off and he says: "So after a show a couple of months ago here in Vancouver I am hanging out with this guy from L.A. and his friends, and having brews , and he is wearing a bootleg D.O.A. shirt, totally cool dude, offered us money, but he had no idea he was wearing a bootleg shirt!"

WTF! That was me! What a night!

BTW, if any of you think that Mrs. KP kicked some big dudes ass because she is some hulking farm girl I can assure you that is not the case! She was way smaller than that guy, she just had combat skills! After the guy would not calm down and got in our friends face she told him to calm down, he told her to "**** off!" She promptly did an NFL field goal kicker style kick to his groin and when he bent over in pain she grabbed him by the ears and then kneed him in the face! He hit the floor bleeding from the nose like a stuck pig! The bouncers dragged him out and thanked her!

True love!

Oh Edit: got a play a vid

an old song that has meaning today.......

And another old fave of mine....

And one more of my old favorite tunes from them, live, and how Canadian is it that Randy is wearing a flannel shirt!

Last one. Trial is a great record from start to finish. It was pretty much why I started playing drums. The guitars are amazing.

Anyone going to Tiger Army and TSOL tonight? My schedule sucked and then it sold out.

I went and it was pretty awesome. Tiger Army's my favorite band and I've seen them about a million times...couldn't pass up seeing them again! TSOL was fantastic. I'd never seen them live before and they were so much fun and sounded great. The Teragram Ballroom is a pretty great little venue. I'd never been there before and I'd definitely go back.

Dang, I'm jealous now. I'm glad you had a good time. Yeah, I saw Bob Mould at the Teragram last year and have been watching their calendar ever since. Like you said, it is a pretty great little venue.
