One Vertigo comic that isn’t moving to New Line is Justice League Dark, which is remaining at Warner Bros. Guillermo del Toro penned a screenplay for the pic and had been attached to direct for a while, but THR now reports that he is no longer involved. This isn’t a huge surprise, as he’s currently in the midst of prepping Pacific Rim 2 and wouldn’t have had time in his schedule to devote to JLD for a few years.

Indeed, the filmmaker maintains that the plan was always to address that destruction in the follow-up film, and Ben Affleck said this was one of the aspects of Batman v Superman that attracted him to the project, adding that the Man of Steel finale has personal repercussions for Bruce Wayne:

“One of the things I liked was Zack’s idea of showing accountability and the consequences of violence and seeing that there are real people in those buildings. And in fact, one of those buildings was Bruce Wayne’s building so he knew people who died in that Black Zero event.”

I still believe that the human death toll in Man of Steel was a consideration of the audience more than the filmmakers. Regardless, I am glad they are running with it.

S vs. B was a very impressive trailer. But then the Suicide Squad shaky cam teaser appeared on YouTube, and it was even better IMHO.

SUICIDE SQUAD Cast Reveals First Trailer at Comic-Con

Was there. The multi-screen with side panels WB presentation was spectacular. The splash concept art and title cards they showed were terrific. Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman(which drew a huge reaction), JLA 1 and 2 and Green Lantern Corps leading into the SS footage. I was angry about them race swapping Floyd Lawton, but Will Smith fits the part surprisingly well. Despite the monotone dark on dark costumes...the footage was ridiculous. Just amazing. Lots of Ayer's good gritty quality makes this look like a serious contender.
