Saw Shazam with the kiddos, they loved it and by the end I gave it a thumbs up. Mark Stone was impressive and just serious enough to give an honest weight to the movie. Levi was well cast.

My sister and I just watched it since she hadn't seen it. The moustache removal was just as distracting as I remembered it

That becomes even more painful after you "Know" it's fake like that fake baby scene in American Sniper.

mhihi: rolleyes:

And I put know in quotation marks because it only takes seconds to notice the fake baby and the mustache removal on Supes.

But watching these the second (third,...) times doesn't give you that 2 second grace period you had the first time, haha. :rolleyes2:

I think that little article summed up what I dislike about Snyder and his films. He finds characters striving to be morally superior less believable than an infant alien (who is mega powerful) crash landing in nowhereville and being raised by farmers. He seems to have no time for anyone who doesn't share his worldview on these fantasy characters he didn't create.
YMMV but I don't need every superhero to be angry, dark and morally conflicted 24/7. What's the point if every character just breaks down to the basest of human emotions? I enjoy stories that aren't just a rehash of Greek gods myths, you know where the gods are just high-powered human a-holes?

This is going to be weird.

Shazam Sequel Brings Back Original Writer, Director Expected To Return

If you haven't seen it, it's a wonderfully charming movie. Like Aquaman, perfectly tailored to it's lead. So happy to see Zach Levi succeed. Keep in mind, like Aquaman before it, was expected to have worst DCEU opening ever. Thankfully, it wasn't able to live down to those expectations.
