WHY? WHY? WHY? We have had multiple years of Vanney as head coach....defender Vanney....and our defense still does some of the same poor things it did in year one of Vanney.
It's laughable. It's sad. it's depressing.
I guess its CCC or bust this year.
Don't want to be debbie downer, but I don't see the G's winning in Mexico on Tuesday.
I can see Tigres getting 3 goals on the G's.
It's really starting to show that perhaps we had a good run of luck last season.
Vanney has no ideas outside of Puig. It seems that once the G's got Puig, Vanney just went with "give Puig the ball". This roster cannot create, or Vanney cannot coach them to create without Puig. Long balls up the field to Pec and Painstil is not a creative, effective strategy.
....I will say Delgado left a massive hole in the midfield.
...and yea, I turned it off after the 2nd goal.

Ramirez is either going on a scoring streak or a ghost. Nothing in between. Man, I miss Dejan.
Fagundez….what does he do?
Last year he was serviceable off the bench.
This year as a starter he doesn’t do much….either on wing or as a 10…not much.

...and as far as a tournament nobody cares about, may I bring up Leagues Cup......that to me is the ultimate "who cares" tournament.
I think we can fully evaluate the G's by the end of May to see if this season can go anywhere, or just toss it in the trash.
However at this rate, fingers are crossed to see if the G's can make a final playoff spot in league play.

Sure the offseason seems to be a bust, but still, the talent of this team should be playing much better.
There are far poorer quality teams that have more points and wins than the Galaxy.
That’s really saying something.

Yeahhh well apparently the Houston away supporters all got rings so there's that.

I suppose there's some room for positivity given that they didn't give up when going a man down and put up some kind of fight. Thank goodness for Fagundez but I have no idea when the first win will come.

^^ Yea...Zanka....and I thought he should continue to start after the Minnesota match....that kind of performance did not last long. I guess that was the double-zero on the roulette wheel kind of performance.
Zanka is back to odd-even red-black predictable bad performance from here on out.

Greg is currently on a one year auto-extension of his contract.....triggered by making the playoffs last year.
Color me curious, but Greg was not a Kuntz hire.....and that's the interesting part to me.
Kuntz has no loyalty to Greg. If the team continues to crater, it would be very easy for Kuntz to sack Greg, and say "he was not my guy....and time to get "my" manager.....so to speak.

G’s won MLS cup because of Puig.
Once the roster got legit wingers with Puig, really ANYBODY could have “coached” this team and got results.
Give Puig the ball, and let him playmake with “good” players. Don’t really need to coach that.
Cup run was all Puig. He gave the killer P’s the ability to score. Add in our legit striker Dejan and you win. Sure we had depth, but it was the Riqui show. Defending was still poor to average. Still horrible on set pieces, yet won because of Puig.
Without Puig, and the “new” midfield and new striker, Vanney has no ideas to adjust because his system is busted.
Clearly the roster is not as good as last season, but they are NOT this bad. This is not a garbage roster. It’s a serviceable roster with excellent wings. Should be mid pack with a legit manager.
In Toronto Vanney won with a stacked roster….same in LA.
With a mid, MLS serviceable roster, he is lost.
Club needs to move on before signing him up for another contract.

Interesting about Riqui's comment, but not surprising.

- He won a Trophy with Vanney

I do wonder which one is Vanney:

- Fail more than convert on penalties
- Substitutions are often pretty bad.
- Attack more often than not is slow & plodding.
- For as good of counterattacking assets the G's have, they are rarely used in a quick counter.
