I'll try to keep it spoiler free

I loved Mysterio. And whoever was responsible for such a faithful yet entirely distinct version deserves praise for cracking a villain who is tricky to translate from the comics. And Watts is the right director for the job. Despite the differences from the Spider Man of my youth (cell phones, diversity)**** I had no problems identifying with the young characters.

****before someone calls me racist/phobic/insincere, I grew up in the 70s. Spiderman was Archie comics with web slinging. All the characters were white. Statement of fact. So yes, I identify with that era simply because it was as things were presented. Doubt my sincerity all you want.

The post credits scene, especially the doozy at the very very end of the credits needs to be explained to me.

Anyway...Holland/Watts are finally capturing the essence of the comics. Well done.

Saw it last night and loved it. As an avid Spidey fan and reader growing up I can honestly say - even thought the plot took place out of NY - this is the first plot that felt like a Spidey story I would avidly read month to month when growing up. Tom Holland is legit and even though I was skeptical because I liked Andrew Garfield, Holland is made for this role. Mysterio was absolutely the best as he was right behind Gobby for the villain I most hated because he was such a vain pain in the butt especially to Peter. Bravo Jake and the screen writers!

And like jd the post credit scenes are a giant WTF to any true Spidey fans ... I am really PO'ed about the first one ... the second one is basically a "huh?"
