Disney’s Marvel and Netflix Join Forces to Develop Historic Four Series Epic plus a Miniseries Event Based on Renowned Marvel Characters
Landmark Deal Brings Marvel’s Flawed Heroes of Hell’s Kitchen, led by “Daredevil,”
to the World’s Leading Internet TV Network in 2015
Burbank, Calif. – Nov 7, 2013—The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) and Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) today announced an unprecedented deal for Marvel TV to bring multiple original series of live-action adventures of four of Marvel’s most popular characters exclusively to the world’s leading Internet TV Network beginning in 2015. This pioneering agreement calls for Marvel to develop four serialized programs leading to a miniseries programming event.
Led by a series focused on “Daredevil,” followed by “Jessica Jones,” “Iron Fist” and “Luke Cage,” the epic will unfold over multiple years of original programming, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and a culminating Marvel’s “The Defenders” mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.
Produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Television Studios, this groundbreaking deal is Marvel’s most ambitious foray yet into live-action TV storytelling.
The FF evicted from the Baxter Building and facing the Avengers. The Thing in prison for murder. Johnny Storm powerless. Dragon Man sentenced to death. The imagination of Sue and Reed Richards’ son Franklin becoming all too real while his younger sister is on her own.
Ultimately, Robinson reveals, his upcoming run is about “a family finding the strength to face adversity through the help and love of each other.”
Debuting in February as part of Marvel’s “All-New Marvel Now” initiative, the new Fantastic Four series brings together Robinson and artist Leonard Kirk to add to the legacy of the supergroup Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created in 1961.
That’s a pretty nifty Alex Ross cover there, too. Robinson tells them;
“We’re going to see the fragmentation of the family due to villainous outside forces that are slowing picking at them and eroding them,” Robinson says. “The arc I’m going to be telling is basically the fall and the rise of the Fantastic Four, and especially the fall and rise of Johnny Storm.”

Adgy...you were a huge fan of this(and I think Booby too) are you still????
Is This The End For Stormwatch? (UPDATE) - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
Wait. Why does old school LOBO seem to be part of this group? Is that failure pile over already? Can someone who is in the know let me in on what Lobo's status is?
Yeah, well they had teased some battle to the death with new Lobo vs LoboCLASSIC...seems pretty fragging dumb. Nobody in their right minds would prefer that poncey little git to the Main Man. But then the NEW 52(rhymes with peeeeeeeeeeee ewwwwwwwwwww)
has been synonomous with bad decisions and shortsightedness. I read this morning that the Metal Men were coming back. WHY? Hawkman/Question/Demon/Hawk&Dove/Blackhawks/JSA and so on are properties that DC trots out everytime they decide to try to make themselves relevant again just to cancel 14 issues in.
Thanks for the info on Stormwatch...shame to hear that about Starlin, but I couldn't imagine that his VERY 70's mindset would translate well. Hell, looking back on it, for me that was Marvel's golden age. Gerber w/Man Thing & Howard the Duck, Power Man & Iron Fist, all that groovy space stuff. End of rant.
