Changes For Constantine Already - Goodbye Liv, Hello Zed - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movie, TV News

If you have seen the pilot you know how important she appeared to be to the series going forward… but news from HollywoodReporter.com is that Lucy Griffiths is already leaving the series before the pilot even airs.

Griffiths, the former True Blood and Robin Hood star, played Liv Aberdine, a woman with the ability to see the dead spirits in the world. She gets marked for death by a demon and this is how John Constantine gets involved. The series creators have decided to go in a different direction since filming the pilot, saying they plan to bring in Zed, a character from the source material.

Zed! I wonder if she'll get to keep her hair?

Roberto Orci Officially Leaves

Recap: “Amazing Spider-Man 3,” delayed and in limbo? Hard to say, but it doesn’t sound very good and considering the evidence of the very weak box-office, it doesn’t take a dummy to figure out that Sony’s been in post-mortem mode and trying to figure out what went wrong and how they can “fix” their big super hero property going forward. “Star Trek 3”? I’d assume it’ll move forward as planned until we hear otherwise, but it will be interesting to see how a first time director with no hands-on filmmaking experience (other than producing) can handle mounting a tentpole of this scope and scale.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 3" is supposed to hit theaters on June 10th, 2016. We'll see if it still hits that date.

Another reboot on the way in 3... 2... 1...

What If The Fantastic Four Film Also Doesn't Want To Have Anything To Do With The Comics? - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movie, TV News

CosmicBookNews has translated an interview in a recent Esquire, interviewing lead actress Kate Mara, who says,

I’ve never been a fan of comics, I’ve never actually read one. I was going to for this movie but the director said it wasn’t necessary. Well, actually he told us that we shouldn’t do it because the plot won’t be based on any history of anything already published. So I chose to follow his instructions. The one fact is I am a fan of comic book movies, so it’s very exciting to be part of a movie like this.

Honestly, at this point they might as well.

Warren Ellis And Mike Allred Creating A Comic About The Bacardi Family - For Bacardi - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movie, TV News

Warren Ellis and artist Michael Allred have been paid by rum manufacturers Bacardi to create a comic about the origin of the brand and the history of the family who first distilled and more importantly marketed it in, and from, Cuba, focusing on the work of Emilio Bacard?, son of the founder, and his work for Cuban independence from Spain against his father’s wishes, exiled and then later becoming mayor, appointed by the then occupying American forces.

Jeez, the idea of a Warren Ellis/Mike Allred comic is exciting, but... as a commercial? That's disappointing, I won't lie. Maybe Warren is getting paid in cases of rum? I guess that makes sense.

These are now available at most Subways...nice little bags actually, use a Beeker one from the last Muppet flick all the time. I had to take the display one for Rocket so if you are interested, you better get em quick. I know there is gonna be a ton of merch/tie in stuff, but I can vouch for these as a practical little item. There is a Gamora one that isn't pictured...purple bag I think.

Huh?

So I guess John Constantine will still be smoking, the skinflute! mhihi:

I'll show my way out.

Superior Iron Man And The Avengers NOW! Initiative From Marvel - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movie, TV News

avengers-now.jpg

So, we've got a new Captain America, a new Thor and a new look for Iron Man. Conspiracy theory: Anybody think that upcoming Marvel/Kirby lawsuit decision is going to have a big effect on how long this lasts? Not to mention potentially getting people used to new versions of the characters for once the contracts of the current movie stars expire?

Ugh. All this revisionist stuff. Doc Strange looks particularly peculiar.
