The other teams thread

Thanks for the regulation win, Stars. :P
Now Kings can lose a game but still be up 2 points with even games played.

Oil most likely beat the Kraken tonight and their remaining games include the Sharks 3x. What a scheduling quirk there. However they also play Vegas and the Jets once each and have tough games against the Flames and Blues who will be playing for everything down the stretch.

Definitely comes down to the two Kings games but at least Oil have some tough games outside of those too.

Not to mention Skinner (goalie) injured--concussion?
Bouchard and Hyman both went down and left the ice during this game, also. Could have been a massive turn of events for the Kings come playoff time, however, both skaters returned later in the game. That being said, I’m sure their whole crew will be back in time for round 1, and completely ready to go, including the ‘timely’ reappearance of Evander Kane and newly acquired Trent Frederic.

Some Oilers commentator was on Sportsnet the Fan yesterday and said Kane looked like he’d be ready to play in Game 1. Also said the injuries to McD and Drai weren’t serious so just gave them time to rest, so they’re a good thing.

Will say he gave Kings credit. Said this year he expects a really hard series.

When the Kings beat them, hopefully it will be with both teams at their best.

I have no idea about the severity of the injuries to the Oilers but I was thinking recently that this break for Draisital and McDavid will be very helpful for that team.
The Oilers have played a lot of games the past few years and it catches up. I’ve theorized that the third year of a playoff run is when it gets really hard.

The Kings almost didn’t survive the grueling ‘14 run and were just spent afterward. I think the Oilers will find this run to be their most difficult. But, this injury break for those two, plus Kane and newer additions may help them. But it’s still a very tough to go on run after run in successive years.
Same I think applies to Florida. It’s going to be interesting to see how both teams handle it.

Thank goodness Seattle beat Deadmonton 6-1. It was a much needed source of relief for us Kings fans after our team got shut out by the Avs earlier tonight.

What a ride by the Blues. There’s a reasonable chance they finish 7th. The Division is yours, Vegas. I’d rather the Kings play the Oilers for a 4th year in a row than the Blues. Scary.
I was really impressed with STL in the games against the Kings.
There are going to be some really tough first round matches, Dallas vs Colorado, LA vs Edmonton and whoever gets the Blues. And the Jets-Wild potential series is no bargain.

Like 2019, Blues could be getting hot at the right time, and be very hard to eliminate. Yes, they will be tough for anyone who plays them.

There won’t be any “waste of 8 days” matchups in the West. WPG still needs to prove their post season abilities again and if they get the Blues I no joke wouldn’t rule out an upset. Not calling it likely, but wouldn’t rule it out.

Whoever Caps play should be the one totally lopsided matchup this year. Quite ironic since the Caps were on the other side of that last year.
