How was it? I have a bottle for tomorrow night.

It's BIG, as in it is one helluva a beer. There is nothing subtle about it. If you like pumpkin beers and barrel aged beers, you will enjoy it. It is an overload of everything. Very aromatic. I was getting everything from graham crackers and butter to brown sugar and baked pumpkin from the aroma. The bottle I had tonight was 2 years old and time tends to mellow things out. If the one you are cracking open tomorrow night is a 2015 bottle, it will just be that much more aggressive and bold. It's one of my favorite beers of all time however I've heard from people that didn't like it because of the onslaught of malty, caramel-ey, brown-sugar-ey goodness. If you've ever had Uncle Jacob's Stout, expect something similar except with a pumpkin beer aged in rum barrels.

I disagree. Goose Island has kept their quality top notch. Still using some of the same brewers that were there before InBev purchased them.
As a Chicagoan, I respectfully disagree.
The amount of adjuncts added to beers shipped nationally is way over what it was prior to the In-Bev/A-B takeover years back (all numbers above zero is 'way over'). The only beers that Goose still makes that are worth a damn are the ones that IB/AB has nothing to do with a.k.a. Bourbon Co. Sophie, Frere Jacques and the stuff they brew that never makes it outside of their local brewpubs. 312, IPA, Kolsch and all the crap are brewed at older Bud breweries in NY etc and contain as much corn/rice and whatever other adjuncts they can get away with. Incredibly inferior brews compared to what they were making years back.

Went yesterday. Citra on tap was pretty darn yummy.

I don't know how they call Constellation Brands as Big Beer. they do not brew beers. they're just a parent umbrella type of a company that, unlike A-B Inbev, actually nurtures breweries.

and rest assured, this just in from a friend who works for BP (he used to work at GRB before the sell-out): we had a big conference call today where they said we will continue to operate independently and our owners are staying on to run the company.

Just for the simple fact that they are now part of a conglomerate. Same with Firestone. While Duvel has a great track record for Firestone and I have no problem drinking some Negra Modelo, all things being equal I'd prefer my favorite breweries to be independently owned. It would be like Sierra Nevada being bought by British Petroleum. Would the product change? I hope not, but it just doesn't feel the same.

if A-B Inbev had not done so much mucking up the smaller breweries into oblivion then my opinions of them would be much different. in fact they just might see a few hard earned buckoids straight from my well-worn wallet.

but they had, and will continue to do so, so **** them.

the same can't be said for Constellation Brands as the beers that they have under their umbrella are still good and drinkable, unlike the ones that sold out to the Big Bad Beer as mentioned above.

In case anyone is interested, I just found (all Firestone Walker Proprietor Vintage) a 2015 Helldorado, a 2015 Velvet Merkin, and a XIX at the Jug & Jigger in West Covina. They cost me a few bucks but they're worth it. Also, I randomly found a Super King Market off of San Fernando and the 2-fwy had a ton of 2015 Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout bottles available. I bought two of them. The guy behind the counter literally asked me "you know what this is?" I responded "hell YES I do." He looked at me like I was crazy...
My wife is now bugging me to buy a fridge specifically for my beer collection, so we can have room for food in our fridge. Beer nerd problems...

I went for a 6er of the New Belgium Ben and Jerry's and honestly I think its the best thing they've ever made. First non overhopped item they've put out. I wouldnt go on a straight diet of the stuff but it was fun while it lasted.

Not only did I get a 6 pack of New Belgium Ben and Jerry's, but I also got a pint of Ben and Jerry's New Belgium Beer flavored ice cream. And they're both really good. I wasn't sure if either of those flavors would work, especially the beer flavored ice cream but they do.

I was skeptical when I bought it, but now I'm going to make an ice cream float out of the stuff.
