Conversely, If Blake trades top prospects in an attempt to make a run at a Cup (when we all know they need a lot more than one piece), and either gets ousted in the first round or misses the post season entirely, he should be fired the minute the outcome of the season is known.

Nah, making no move is better than making a bad move. I'd prefer he stick to picking up a good asset or two off waivers unless he can bring back a piece for the future (like Kakko).

The last 2 years EDM abused us physically and Blake has done what to address that? Englund, PLD & Lewis?
We had, and currently have, no 4th line that can play playoff hockey.

Neither does Edmonton. I would put the depth of the Kings this year (when healthy) against the Oilers in any 7 game series

I still find myself wishing/hoping VA, Kempe & Grundstrom all come back healthy for playoffs. Add Roy (pending UFA) and those my be Blake's "moves". He'd have a good sense on the returning injured players. Then go give it hell in the playoffs ....

Getting healthy is the key that unlocks everything. This group has shown enough for me to believe that if everyone on the roster gets and stays healthy they’ve got enough to get out of the first round and maybe enough to get to the Conference Final.
