I would classify what their PP did to the Kings PK as abuse. They do now.
BTW, their top 2 lines are what abused us the last 2 years.

Neither does Edmonton. I would put the depth of the Kings this year (when healthy) against the Oilers in any 7 game series
I still find myself wishing/hoping VA, Kempe & Grundstrom all come back healthy for playoffs. Add Roy (pending UFA) and those my be Blake's "moves". He'd have a good sense on the returning injured players. Then go give it hell in the playoffs ....
If the team makes it past the 1st round, maybe his job is safe for 1 more year.
He can use the offseason to make moves to fill the gaps (like in net).
Getting healthy is the key that unlocks everything. This group has shown enough for me to believe that if everyone on the roster gets and stays healthy they’ve got enough to get out of the first round and maybe enough to get to the Conference Final.
I don’t think their D is any deeper than ours, but that’s a difference of opinion.Compare the depth of teams 2 weeks ago and I would probably agree with you. Now, after the Oilers acquired a top 6 center, a bottom 6 center, and a 3rd pair D..... I think the edge goes to the Oilers. Sounds like they are not done either and the are looking to add in goal, and/or on the wing.
Kings may, or not make any moves. If the Kings had cap space I am sure Blake would make a move or two, just like every other top team in the west. Problem is, he has none. Some fans are concerned about that leading into the playoffs. That is on Blake.
Kings Brass during the off season and heading into this season were saying that they made the trade for PLD, which was VERY costly, because they felt that move was going to get them over the top. The expectation from them was that the Kings were going to go far in the playoffs, and that winning one single round would not be considered a success.
The Kings cap issues of this and last year are not going away. Not so easy to go out and get a "quality" goalie when you cannot pay them more that 1-1.5mil per.
To start to compare the teams, the Kings down the middle have:
Kopi
Danault
PLD
Lizzotte
The Oilers down the middle have:
McDavid
Draisaitl
Nugent-Hopkins
Henrique
Carrick / McLeod
Coming into this season everyone was excited that the Kings had 3 "top six" centers. Well, Edmonton currently has 4 "top six" centers.
Below is how I see the teams comparing by position.
Center Depth = Oilers by a big margin.
Wing Depth = Kings
D Depth = Oilers
Goalie Depth = Tie
On top of that, the Oilers still have cap space to make more moves and it sounds like they will. So, is it so bad that some Kings fans hope that Blake finds a way to make some moves to improve this team going into the playoffs. The fans were sold a bill of goods that read, deep run in the playoffs. With the changes the Oilers, Knights, Avs, Stars have made. Getting out of the first round is questionable, let alone winning 2.
He played effective last night because we rolled 3 lines, and he was mostly playing on the wing. While I agree, one of my concerns revolves around the 4th line center. I fear Lizotte will not be able to maintain the kind of game he played last night. He will either be injured, or worn down towards the end of a series. If he is not already injured going into the playoffs like last year (if memory serves me right).
DAL got Tanev, COL got Middlestadt, and VGK got freaking Lindholm. EDM got Stecher. Why I said they didn’t get “much better.”I just took a look and Henrique would be 5th or 6th in scoring on this Kings team. 42 points in 60 games playing on a crap team. A better PPG percentage than Trevor Moore. He will be good on the Oilers 2nd or 3rd line.
I am thinking the Oilers got a fair bit better the more I have been thinking about it.
For a second this year and a third next year. LOL to Pagnotta saying he was hearing a first and an A/B prospect. Where was he “hearing” that? Reddit?
Yes, hard to say. They have a better PP specialist and a better, or more experienced 7th. It is close though.I don’t think their D is any deeper than ours, but that’s a difference of opinion.

I disagree that they’re deep. Their own fan base, a loathsome and homered-out horde of maniacs, have decried their bottom 6 for years. Carrick and his 11 pts doesn’t make that group any better. If Kings were a contender and Blake made these moves we’d all be bitter about how bargain basement he went.
Henrique gives them more scoring depth yes but will see how he adjusts to being a bottom 6 player. He’s also 34 and has been in the playoffs twice.
Big picture, Vegas made moves that puts them right there as favorites out of the West if not for the Cup. Already dangerous COL and DAL are certainly more potent. EDM improved but marginally and just on paper. Question marks on all those players.
And since Arvy will be back in 3 weeks or so, he was not a need. Size and grit and a LHD that has some better mobility. I get that the Kings system is setup in a certain way to not need a mobile LHD. However, when things awry it sure would be nice to have someone with some puck moving skills on the left side IMO.That’s just too much for Toffoli. I’ve always liked his game to an extent but he just doesn’t move the needle much in a playoff series.
Nope, Zucker is a Pred now.Look at all the BIG STRAPPING BODIES getting dealt elsewhere.
We’re gonna get stuck with Zucker.
