shot this downtown today...

This street depresses me. (it is Broadway isn't it?)

It should be a (or even THE) cultural icon of L.A., instead it has more in common with a 3rd world market.

And re music: yesterday I heard my first Weezer song on the radio. Maaaan, did it ever suck.

With new music pretty scarce I decided to pick up some prime real estate...

The Stones are simply an anomaly. So many faces...re-inventions. All of them have their merits. The suited Beatle-esque Stones, the disco years, the aor years...but the Satan's little helper period, this was their salad days. So dangerous and just the epitomy of ROCK. Guns and Roses...man, they just missed. Could have seriously had the same arc. I think Rock and Roll kinda died with Guns...they were the heir apparent. Anyway, these cd's just contain so much kickassery that they should be illegal.

Finally! Rick Rubin returns to form and ZZ NAILS IT!!!!!! Really just MANDATORY. Cannot wait for the entire album!!!!

First new MANOWAR in a decade. SOOOOOOOOOO worth the wait. They finally got away from the Wagnerian epic stuff and started writing SONGS again. Great production/musicianship and Eric Adams continues to be one of the most massive VOICES in metal. MAGIC and second only to Foxy Shazam's Church of Rock and Roll for album of the year. Death to false metal...Into glory ride!!!!!!

Just got a copy of the new Manowar yesterday afternoon. Listened to it a few times and so far I'm loving it. They did get back to writing songs and stayed away from the long stories. I will say that Joey's bass sound isn't great. I know what he's trying to do, but it doesn't work for Manowar.

I have been listening to the entire catalogs of Electric Wizard, Sleep, Katatonia, Refused, along with new cds by Orange Goblin and The Melvins.

The Melvins upcoming tour of 51 shows in 51 days in 50 states plus D.C. is crazy!! Trying to make Guiness book.
