Seems that they plan to limit themselves by having another LGBTQ actress for the role instead of having the best actress available. I find it weird to exclude someone from playing a part due to sexual orientation. Caity Lotz played the LGBTQ Sara Lance on DC Legends of Tomorrow quite well without being a member herself.
By their search standard a proven action star like Jennifer Lawrence would be exclude if she might have been interested in the role.
