The other teams thread

I highly doubt Brady is available but if he is the Kings need to push all their chips in. He’s 25 and signed for 3.5 more seasons. Go get him Blake!

Rangers are so full of it. They need to dump Trouba on somebody (or waive him like they did with Barclay last spring) just to shake up their roster and get cap space. Then they need to put together a decent package for Tkachuk. Alexis Lafreniere isn't close to all-star player that Brady is. If I'm Ottawa, it would take Laf+first+top prospect to even get me to pick up the phone.

I do wonder what Blake could package to make this happen. I don't think we have any players left who I'd consider off limits in a deal.

Brandt Clarke seems like the obvious starting point, right? Would definitely have to include Greentree and probably Carter George. Trevor Moore is needed to offset some salary.

Yeah that’s probably not enough to get it done.

Good because I hate that. All the RD are gone. If anyone’s untouchable it’s Brandt Clarke.

George or Slukynsky are going to make a really nice trade chip eventually but today’s not the day. High hope the other is the goalie to ride a decade plus. Right now watching Hammer it’s not if he can make it in each new league, it’s seeing if he lands in a league where he’s not elite. Kid looks so special.

I’d prefer Blake refrain from big trades for a bit, let the young kids come along this season and next and reassess later.

I forgot about Clarke. He is probably the closest to non-tradeable.

Gavrikov, Doughty, Spence (anyone but Mikey/Clarke) are easy to include. Mikey and Clarke just make me think twice.
Moore is definitely a chip with good value and price. Really anyone but Juice should be replaceable with the salary slot (save Kopi but nobody is probably trading for an old man like him).
My dream is Fiala+Spence+Portillo+throw in pick. (That's probably as bogus as a Rangers package centered around their Laf).

Yeah, I think if anyone gets traded, it's if the Kings are out of a playoff spot and then it's about dumping guys and getting draft picks. I can't see them trading Clarke, especially after they traded Faber already.

Agreed. It’s time to chill on the move that “puts them over the top” when the top isn’t within reach in the first place.

Young players are playing impact roles. Other than some woefully low shooting periods, I’m getting what I came for this season. Actually, the current points pct exceeds what I came for.

Amen! No thank you to the thought of moving either Greentree or George. Way too soon to get proper value for either kid - both of whom look like they will become quality NHLers.

It will not be fun playing Anaheim with both Trouba and Gudas on defense. Serious risk of getting players hurt the way both of them play…

Wouldn’t mind either of them (cap hit not counted) on the Kings though. We need some more bite!

Got enuff bite w Burroughs and englund, but Trouba def lay's the big hit. And that's only if they dress. Seems as though moverare is solidified on the 3rd pair, not to mention when Dewey comes back

Ottawa made Brady available towards the end of last season but apparently they wanted more than any team was willing/able to give up. He'd be a nice addition for sure, but it is also weird that his name has potentially come up on the trade block once again (especially so early in the season).

The problem with Burroughs and Englund and the bite they may provide is that they hardly play. So what good does their physical ability do us?

I like how Moverare has played for sure, but he’s not exactly a wrecking ball like Trouba and Gudas. Love Drew, but neither is he and shouldn’t be either considering his age.

I really miss a Greene/Norstrom/Regehr kind of guy who playes tough and many minutes.

I think if anything happens, they trade some guys for picks, clear some salary, try to sign a couple solid upgrade UFAs next season...if any are out there.

Yes, we are saying the same thing. Hopefully jeannot can do it on his own.

After today's fiasco at MSG I fully expect Laviolette to be fired. The good news is it looks like Quick will most likely not be going for his 400th against the Kings. OTH, its possible he gets a start against Buffalo or Chicago and goes against the Kings with a new coach (they have two days off before facing the Kings).
