I think Rantanen will end up turning it on, but it's been a bit of a rude awakening for him so far. He looks good but has been snake bitten when it comes to scoring.
Avs have gotten the better of the trade thus far but I'd be willing to be that flips come playoff time (provide both team make it).

Cap hit is pretty fair at $5.5AAV but he is signed for another 4 years making him a UFA at age 38. Seems like he has the kind of game that will last, though, so would be a good pickup depending on the ask.

Right shot scoring winger who is a good playoff performer and has Cup pedigree? Can't go too wrong, really...as long as the price isn't too high.
The fact that he's not a rental is IMO a bonus, he should have a couple of good years left in him and the Kings are going to be at the very least mediocre until DD and Kopi retire, so whatever.
What do the Preds need though that the Kings can offer? Spence, Thomas + a pick and they retain 1 million?

Caps struggled on the 2nd half of the back-to-back. Only got 7 goals today compared to 8 yesterday.
I do NOT want to face Edmonton again in the first round. Things were looking good until Edmonton lost 3 straight while Vegas won 3 straight.

Kevin Lenkinen's 5 year, 22.5 million extension adds some fuel to the fire.
They make themselves pretty easily to dislike, especially with their after the whistle shenanigans when things aren't going their way. The Oilers fans multiple that dislike by 10.
It would be nice to see the Kings knock them out in the playoffs for a change, but at this point I just want the Kings to make it past the first round.
