Im not knocking the Union Jack IPA at all. it's great by itself, but if you were to drink Kern River Brewing's Just Outstanding IPA next to Firestone's, well, you should find a huge difference. the JO IPA is much crisper and the drinkability is easier than its counterpart. and I found the UJ IPA a bit more hoppy than I had realized.
both were from the tap.
by the way, I think Thirteen-Ten, while he had already sampled the JO last weekend, may have had a UJ at some point in time. I would like to hear his opinion.
booze-a-palooza??!?!?!

I was just at the Big Sky Brewery last month. I agree with the Moose Drool but I wasn't impressed with the Trout Slayer. I had a real nice ale down in Hamilton, MT at the Bitterroot Brewery - the Sawtooth Ale. Our BeersA top the list of my favorite beers:
Moose Drool Brown Ale
ABV: 5.1%
Big Sky Brewing Co.
Missoula, Montana
Very good Brown Ale. If you are into Newcastle, you will like this beer. Tastes a little heavier and richer than Newcastle. Worth a try if you like Brown Ale's.
Another beer i gave a shot at from Big Sky is called Trout Slayer Ale (ABV: 4.7%).
I was attracted to this beer because of the label and name seeing as i myself am a trout slayer. Tried it for the first time about 20 minutes ago and had to give it a recommendation. Very fresh clean beer with a crisp finish to drink any time of the day, especially when you are slaying those trout.
Anyone know where I can find Deschutes - The Abyss? I've gone to a couple bevmos (Pasadena, Empire Center, and Fullerton), but came up empty. Does Vendome carry The Abyss?
